CuriosCurios follow a best album nomination with a richlydeserved victory in the Best Band category at the lastever BBC Jazz Awards. Drawing on eclectic passions(including iconic pianist Brad Mehldau, romantic classicalmusic and motorsport journalism) Curios’ musical worldis self-contained and yet utterly expansive, shiftingeffortlessly from moments of real beauty to passagesof fiery explosiveness.

Underpinned by Josh Blackmore’s edgy, dynamicdrumming and Sam Burgess’ rhythmic drive, the groupvisits the outer boundaries of the jazz piano trio’spossibilities; Tom Cawley’s passionate music andexpressive playing enables them to explore an enthrallingworld that is beautiful, fun, searching and wild, butalways powerfully compelling.
