President Carrie Lucas’ Message to The Membership
Every fork in the road and every cross roads of life requires a decision on our part.
Throughout our entire life, on a daily basis, 24/7, we are making countless choices that
determines whether we live as wise or as foolish.
Wise decision is not based on self-examination of anything else, other than the wisdom of God
that is found in His Word. Yes, it is through the seeking of the Lord's guidance and His wisdom
that we make wise choices.
Making decisions on our own apart from God that is based on our own feeling, our own
desires, our own wisdom and or other people's advice is not wise because as humans we have
limited knowledge, whereas God is all knowing.
To choose wise or foolishly started in the garden of Eden with our first parents, Adam and Eve
and the choice is still alive today with every human being that now or ever existed.
Adam and Eve chose to make the decision to disobey God based on their knowledge and desires.
It was not that they weren't aware of what they needed to know to make the right decision
because God told them these words in Genesis 2:15-17- The Lord took the man and put him in
the garden of Eden to till it and to keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying,
“Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
The unwise decision by Adam and Eve did not bring a sudden physical death, but a spiritual
death that caused man to be separated from God because of his willful choice to Sin against God
in disobedience to what God had already commanded of Him not to do.
Whenever we’re faced with a choice, regardless of how major or minor it may be, we should
always ask ourselves “what is the wisest thing to do”? The wise thing to do would be is to seek
God’s wisdom through God’s Word.

A Real Life Love Story Linda Posey District 9
Linda Posey married Ross Thomas Jr. on Saturday, May 30, 2020 in Fayetteville. The new Mrs.
Thomas is the District 9 Awards and Scholarship Chair, and a member of the CCC-NCAEOP.
She retired from Cumberland County Schools in September 2017, and has been working as the
Administrative Assistant for Methodist University's Physician Assistant Program, since October
2017. Linda and Ross live in Fayetteville, but will later reside in Eastover. Side note... They met
at 71st High School (Fayetteville) 45 years ago! we were in 10th grade when we met at 71st HS.
It took 45 years to finally get here; but Ross was so worth the wait! When I first saw him in 10th
grade, it was love at first sight. The attached picture shows that I could hardly believe I was
finally marrying the man I'd loved for a lifetime... I went to his wedding in 1987!
I had invested 29 years in a lonely marriage before deciding that you can't change grown folks,
and I didn't want to spend the rest of my life being unhappy, anymore. I was tired of trying to
make someone see how important support, trust and unselfishness (to name a few) are in a
marriage.

Zoom Tutorial:
Once everyone enters the meeting, the Host will then "Mute All." The Host has control of
the meeting. This will allow for better interaction with the attendees since the Host will
need to be the one to see the "Raise Hand" icon and acknowledge them. Muting all will
keep all the chit chat under control and allow for one person at time to respond.
There is a short YouTube video that shows how to Chat, Raise Hand, and Reactions
during a meeting. YouTube and type "Zoom - Participant Instructions for Chat, Raise
Hand, Reactions Tools." Click on this video that is less than three minutes long. Easy
