System recovery for EMC NetWorker
NBMR is a system recovery solution that allows EMC NetWorker users to recover machines directly from their NetWorker backups.
In the event of a server failure, NBMR will automatically recover the operating system, applications and configuration information.
No separate backup needs to be installed, managed or monitored, and no additional storage or network bandwidth is required.
NBMR key features
Backups are performed by NetWorker, retaining the features and advantages of that software.
NBMR can recover a server operating system in as little as ten minutes and multiple servers can be recovered simultaneously. A whole data centre can be recovered in just a few hours.
NBMR recoveries can be fully automated. Recoveries can be made to similar or dissimilar hardware, and
to virtual and Cloud machines. NBMR allows you to easily achieve your recovery RTOs and
RPOs Provides an exactly identical machine. Restores to any point in time that is available in NetWorker.
NBMR supports: Windows, Linux, AIX and Solaris machines. All NetWorker versions currently supported by EMC.
NBMR install process
NetWorker backup
Install NBMR onto source servers (Prerequisite: NetWorker Client is installed)
Source Systems can be Physical, Virtual or Cloud
Configure NetWorker Client and ensure Client is backing up all file systems (and VSS objects if Windows)
Use “savepnpc” in your NetWorker server configuration to ensure nbmrcfg is run prior to your NetWorker backup.
