“Introduction Of The Company” • NBC Bearings is the premier brand of India’s leading bearings manufacturer and

exporter company, founded in 1946 by the great industrialist late “Shri B.M.Birla”.

• NBC is a pioneer, renowned for excellence in quality and delivery for over 60 years.

• NBC produces over 100 million bearings each year in more than 1000 sizes to serve a host of varied customers across India and 21 other countries in 5 continents.

• It has the capacity to develop bearings from 10 mm bore to 2000 mm outer diameter. The product range includes ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, double row angular contact (DRAC) bearings, cylindrical and spherical roller bearings.

• With increasing activities and grant of industrial licenses for other vital industries and manufacturing, the name of the company was changed in 1958 to ‘National Engineering Industries Ltd.’ retaining its original trade mark NBC.

•In 1946 NBC founded in jaipur by Technical Collaboration with Hoffman USA.•In 1950 Ball Bearing production started.•In 1958 Company is renamed “NATIONAL ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES LTD.” (NEI) NBC trademark retained.•In 1967 Tapered Roller Bearing division launched.•In 1975 Spherical Roller Bearing production begins.•In 1981 second plant launched in Newai.•In 2007 third plant launched in Manesar.

Industrial and Railways applications. • Ball Bearing: A ball bearing is a type of rolling-element bearing that uses

balls to maintain the separation between the moving parts of the bearings.• The purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational friction and support

radial and axial loads.

Tapered Roller Bearing: Tapered Roller bearings are generally separable, which means the cone assembly, consisting of the inner ring with roller and cage, can be mounted separately.

HOW A BALL MADE

• Heading: In the first step, heading machines cut wire into short lengths and form it into spherical shapes between dies.

• Deflashing: The flash line, a ridge left by the forming dies, is removed as balls roll between heavy, cast iron plates.

• Soft Grinding: Similar to deflashing, except that a grinding stone is used to improve precision.

• Heat-treating: Carbon steel balls are next carburized and hardened. Heat treatment imparts the desired hardness and case depth.

• Descaling: This step removes the residues and by-products from the heat-treating process.

• Hard Grinding: Slow, meticulous grinding assures proper sizing and sphericity, with tolerances as close as ±.0001".

• Lapping: Several proprietary lapping processes can bring balls to the requirements of ISO 3290 Grade 10 - 48.

• Finishing: Proprietary chemical and mechanical processes give the balls their final micro-smoothed finish, for increased wear resistance and product longevity.

• Inspection: All products pass through at least two 100% inspection stages, using proprietary, automated inspection processes.
