What is MWR?

Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) includes more than 50 different activities, such as fitness centers, movies, golf, bowling, swimming pools, cabins and campgrounds, marinas, Navy Sports, Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT) and Liberty programs.

These are just some of the MWR programs and services available to you.

MWR supports your mission readiness and overall quality of life. Available at every Navy installation worldwide and on board Navy ships at sea, you’ll find MWR wherever you go!

Centers…More Navy installations have opened Liberty Centers, home base for the Liberty program and THE hangout spot for single and unaccompanied service members. Most centers feature Internet access, video games, TV and movie viewing areas, and game tables. Stop by and see what’s happening.

Eligibility…Single service members, ranks E1-E6, are Liberty’s target customers; however, all single and unaccompanied service members are eligible to participate in Liberty programs and use Liberty Centers.

Guests…Accompanied guests, ages 18 and older, may participate in select Liberty programs alongside their sponsoring service member on a space-available basis. Guests are not eligible for Liberty discounts and must pay full price for programs.

The Affordable Connection to Off-duty Recreation!

The Navy’s Liberty program is committed to making sure single and unaccompanied service members have opportunities to meet people with similar interests, discover the local area, try something new and get connected. We do this in an alcohol- and tobacco-free environment to promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

When families move, they’ve got a built-in support system – each other. Liberty is that support system for single Sailors. When you report on board, check out Liberty. There’s always something happening, and you’ll meet people who like to do the same things as you.

Liberty offers a variety of planned and drop-in recreational opportunities. Special events, competitions, destination trips, local outings and other activities are offered year ‘round. Drop by your local Liberty Center to find out what’s happening this month.

Liberty is able to offer most recreational opportunities at a substantial discount or for free! Don’t let the cost fool you – these are quality programs that you couldn’t put together yourself for less.
