NAVAL CYBER DEFENSE PROGRAM WHAT IS THE NAVAL CYBER DEFENSE PROGRAM? The Naval Cyber Defense program is a three-month, guided summer research and training program, housed at UNC Charlotte and sponsored by the Office of Naval Research. The program provides students with hands-on research activities at U.S. Navy priority areas involving new technology-based warfighting capabilities. WHAT ARE THE RESEARCH AREAS? We offer research projects in cutting-edge areas including: • Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence • Machine Learning and Data Science • Natural Language Processing WHY NAVAL CYBER DEFENSE AND WHY UNC CHARLOTTE? • UNC Charlotte offers one of most vibrant and innovative university experiences. • Work with the leading researchers in the field • Opportunity to gain foundational knowledge in quantitative skills for analyzing large-scale data • Develop skills to help the nation defend against emergent cyber and electronic warfare threats. WHO CAN APPLY? ROTC members are strongly encouraged to apply, however, the program is open to all U.S. Nationals.
