DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED
DIFFICULTY SOLUTION
The method requires identifying working children with nearly identical characteristics. The selection of some of them to receive the service and others only to be studies, generated resistence among some parents. When the services began, some of them wanted to move their children into the beneficiary groups.
The compensatory educational input and the public random selection minimized the problem. The Project team helped to resolve conflicts during the interviews.
The study was done by a team which at first did not know the local areas, the target group and the agreements reached with the beneficiaries, and thus required greater coordination.
The strategies and instruments were designed together with the Foundation team.
