Editors Page Through this project I have learnt that country’s are not even. Some are dying off and some are becoming over populated. But all these country’s are the same, They all produce natural recourses and without them we would all have to find another way to live. We need The sun and The 1% of clean water we own. Natural Recourses are what kept us alive and helped us evolve.

“Gold isn’t much of one of these recourses we need, But still its good to look at”. -Hayden Marshall q

Information Text

Did you know that around two and a half million kilo grams of gold is produced every year, or did you know that traces of gold can be found in the human body?

Natural recourses are recourses that are created without a humans help, they are created on there own with the help of nature. Some of the natural recourses

are used to create power like wind , water or even the sun. Some natural recourses even create Jewellery, buildings, or even cars. The recourse that creates these items may be gold, silver, copper or led. Humans also use natural recourses all day every day for there whole life! We need some natural recourses to live so without them we would not be able to survive. There is often two sorts of natural recourses they are Finite (Runs out eventually) and Infinite (Will never run out). Some examples are; We drink water and that will eventually run out but we use solar power for energy and that wont run out.

Gold is one of these natural recourses and you might use it every day.

Every year gold is transported across the world to make items, Gold is found all over the world. The most gold is found in china at 403 tonnes a year, then it’s Australia at 250 tonnes a year, then the U.S at 230 tonnes a year, Russia at 205 tonnes a year and then south Africa at 125 tonnes a year!

Gold is normally found underground near or in silver pockets or on its own, it can also be found in river banks where it is panned for.

Gold can create a giant impact on a local community. It can run down a small town or it can populate it. Gold attracts job seekers and lots of them, these job seekers might get a job in a local gold mine and start a new life living in the local town or village this is a good thing, but gold mines are awfully dangerous and awfully dirty, they also use up a lot of space if the mine gets large.Gold mines are a bad thing for a community as they increase the community’s alcohol usage, drug usage, demands for social services and crime! Because gold mining is such an awful thing for the environment we need to find a way to make it cleaner this will make it healthier, cleaner, pollute less and of course make it a lot better for the

environment and communities around it.

As a person in the world you have a right to mine gold, but with rights there comes responsibility’s. Of course you can go and mine a small amount of gold and make some money, but what about your surroundings, the nature around you? You have to take care of the area around you if you go mining, if we did not we would have little nature left to take care of.

We also have the responsibility to watch out6 for others. In 2006, sago, America 12 died and 1 man was faintly injured in a terrible mining accident. You don’t want the environment to die, and especially don’t want the your family and friends to die.

“If you make a hole, fill it back up!”
