In keeping with the theme we chal- lenged the children in every possi- ble way. There were eight “Minute to Win It” challenges, a “Foods of the Bible” challenge, and the “Stir the Pie” cooking contest was the final challenge. Every opportunity was taken for ministry. Bad behavior, was an opportunity for ministry. Low self -esteem, we stopped to minister. Overly enthusiastic play, was stopped and ministered. Bad housekeeping became ministry also. Sis. On Thursday, July 21, 2016 two

groups of 12 participated in the

Community Service Event at the

Ronald McDonald House. It

was a very rewarding experi-

ence. Group A arrived at 6:00

a.m. to prepare breakfast for the

residents. The menu included:

eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes,

hash browns and fruit. Group B

arrived at 8:00 a.m. to prepare

baked sweets for the residents

that included: cookies, muffins

and brownies.

We thank Sis. Valetta Ross for

preparing crafted items for the

residents.

We also thank Sis. Jasmine

Hooker and the Southwestern

Diocese SS & HYM for assisting

in the planning of this event.

Both groups were well received

and enjoyed their time to give

back. Listen to hear what will be

planned for 2017 in Jackson,

MS!

You don’t want to miss this
