Workshop Objectives
• To initiate a multi stakeholder dialogue at the local level with local specific set of indicators that contributes to
the national level dialogue and the reporting process;
• To introduce a local HFA monitoring and review framework and gather feedback on the tools and processes; and
• To reach consensus and mutual understanding among different national and local actors on the needs and priorities for disaster reduction, leading to agreed actions and collaborative approaches to accelerate implementation of the HFA.

– What is the Local Level? District, Municipality, Village Dev. Committees, Wards, Clusters, Settlements.
• DRR is a new issue to most of the Districts HFA is unknown to even those working actively for DRR.

The Way Forward
• Monitoring to be a continuous process.
• HFA Core Indicators along with the VFL to be used by the relevant participating institutions.
• Streamline the process with the existing monitoring evaluation process at various level.
• Seek Support from UNISDR and other Agencies for financial and technical assistance.

The Way Forward
• NSET to continue working as a facilitator
• MOHA along with MOLD to initiate coordinated monitoring process at the local level.
• Municipalities and VDCs to lead the monitoring process at their respective areas in close coordination with districts
• The tools may need to be revised to include Cross Cutting issues in the monitoring process
