DAY ONE

Feel the coolness of the early morning air as we travel east through the spectacular Virgin River Gorge and along the Mormon Trail. After passing through the dramatic woodlands of Fishlake National Forest, along the San Rafael Swell, and across the Green River, we’ll arrive in Moab, Utah. A late afternoon visit to Dead Horse Point overlooking the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers and Canyonlands National Park offers views beyond belief! The journey continues at Canyonlands National Park, known for its towering mesas, deep canyons, and soaring pinnacles brimming with unique natural phenomenon and uncommon wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for pinyon pines jutting out from the canyon walls, and black-tailed jackrabbits, and skittish mule deer, known to roam the area. Sunset from here is the perfect end of the day.

Overnight at Best Western Plus Canyonlands Inn, or nearby Moab, UT hotel

DAY TWO

Capture the early light of the day and stay ahead of the crowds with an early morning start. We will have optimal time to experience the wonders of Arches National Park, just north of Moab and home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the massive, crimson-colored Delicate Arch. The trail to Delicate Arch is not to be missed and the photos of this famous formation are incomparable! Walk Wall Street, Landscape Arch, and the Windows trails. In the afternoon, there’s time to wander the streets of Moab, full of unique gift shops, galleries, and cool restaurants, or jump on a mountain bike for an exhilarating guided ride. A late afternoon optional jet boat tour on the Colorado River is an excellent way to experience this incredible outdoor playground. The reflections of the towering canyons will take your breath away!

Overnight at Best Western Plus Canyonlands Inn, or nearby Moab, UT hotel

DAY THREE

Another early start to experience one of the most incredible and diverse regions of southern Utah. Today is full of surprises and offers some of the most isolated landscapes in the American West. Our first stop is Newspaper Rock Historic Monument, where early nomads, established tribes, and explorers of the West have left messages, handprints, and names carved into the canyon walls. These glyphs date back 2,000 years. In addition to Newspaper Rock, we’ll visit Edge of the Cedars State Park to view artifacts and rediscover the well-preserved ruins and view the largest Anasazi pottery display in the Four Corners region. Natural Bridges National Monument is next for a short walk to the Sipapu Bridge overlook and a scenic picnic lunch you won’t forget. The day ends overlooking Capitol Reef National Park from our hotel, which offers incredible panoramas of this stunning landscape!

Overnight at Capitol Reef Resort, or nearby Torrey, UT hotel

DAY FOUR

Today’s tour will travel from Torrey to Bryce Canyon National Park. Utah’s Scenic Highway 12 is one of the most scenic roads in the American West. It crosses over Boulder Mountain and traverses the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The overlook of Creek Falls and the constant change of scenery is truly a sight to behold. The area is full of Wild West history; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid used the area to hide from the law. Sunset today will be experienced at Sunset Point along the rim trail of Bryce Canyon National Park. The views are sure to leave you awestruck from the natural beauty of the hoodoos and setting sun dancing in unison.

Overnight at historic Bryce Canyon Lodge in the spring; Overnight at Ruby’s Inn in the fall, or nearby Bryce Canyon UT hotel

DAY FIVE

After enjoying a cup of coffee and taking in the beautiful views of Bryce Canyon, the tour will venture out to hike among the trails of weaving hoodoos. Then, we journey from Bryce Canyon into Zion – a scenic drive that is not to be missed! The name “Zion” means a place of peace and refuge. As a sanctuary with over 146,000 acres of cliffs, canyons, diverse plant and animal life, and uninterrupted beauty, Zion is aptly named. The journey to Upper Zion National Park is an amazing voyage as we pass by Checkerboard Mesa and enter Zion Canyon. Once we’ve passed through the mile-long tunnel, the park opens up to yet more towering cliffs and descends into the Virgin River Valley, which runs through the park. Our full day of touring concludes as we settle in for the night in historic lodge of the national park.

Overnight in historic Zion Park Lodge, or nearby

Springdale, UT hotel

DAY SIX

We’ll have a full day to further explore Zion’s many offerings. A complimentary shuttle operates in Zion Canyon, allowing our small group to explore at their own pace and interests. Angel’s Landing, Emerald Pools Trail, Weeping Rock, and the Narrows are some of the highlights. You can also enjoy hiking, walking, National Park Ranger activities, or just relaxing by the river and enjoying the stunning views. The park is your oyster! A beautiful afternoon drive back into the Mojave Desert to the bright lights of Las Vegas will complete this stunning tour of Utah’s magnificent national parks.
