We had 4 days per week of daily activities for 7 weeks of; reading, cooking , arts & crafts, fitness, science projects and just having fun. We served 63 youth with up to 19-33 a day with an average of 15 per day. The expression on the children faces was priceless, we’re making an IMPACT! SUMMER CAMP FAIR The ECC Residential Council Group planned and volunteered the first National Night Out (NNO) Event it was an amazing night of friends, family, food and fun. The South Shore Dragon Dancers performed and Connie So shared culture information, Emerald City Bible Fellowship members came and helped serve, greet guest and monitor children games, City of Seattle Discount Utility Program was here to inform residents how to save up to 60% on their utility bill. We had over 60 guest and 18 volunteers, among them was Bill Rumpt, Mercy Housing President, Steve Bury, Urban Impact Executive Director and Hyeok Kim, City of Seattle Deputy Mayor in picture below.

This summer we had a 5 awesome volunteers that

implemented KICK N’ It Summer Camp. We had 4

days per week of daily activities for 7 weeks of; reading,

cooking , arts & crafts, fitness, science projects and just

having fun. We served 63 youth with up to 19-33 a day

with an average of 15 per day. The expression on the

children faces was priceless, we’re making an IMPACT!

Annual Survey 2014

Each year, Mercy Housing asks residents to complete a survey. The information is used to

help us better understand residents’ needs. Your answers are used to make plans about the

kinds of services offered.

ECC’s Annual Survey is from September 2nd through September 13th .It should take about

15-20 minutes of your time. Your answers are confidential. Your answers will not affect

your housing or services.

The information will be used to improve services for you, your family, and for other

residents of Mercy Housing. Please Contact the RSC if you have any questions. We really

appreciate your help.

ECC’s Annual Survey is from September 15th through September 27th. For those who

complete our annual survey their name will be entered in a raffle for gift card at the end of

the survey!!!

10 HOMEWORK TIPS

Know the teachers—and what they’re

looking for.

Set up a homework-friendly area to

study.

Schedule a regular study time.

Help them make a plan that works.

Keep distractions to a minimum.

Make sure they do their own work

Be a motivator and monitor

Set a good example

Praise their work and efforts

If there are continuing problems with

homework, get additional help as soon

as possible.

There will be 3 separate grade level spaces. Focus will be academics; math,

reading & writing, community, leadership and fun.
