    (lf). FY 2013 Workforce Highlights

(UN.fOUO) Continuous workforce planning and management are a priority at NGA.. NGA shapes the workforce (military, civilian,. and contractor) by consistently hiring those most capable of advancing the NGA Vision, actively training in GEOINT core competencies, and closely monitoring attrition for at-risk work roles identified in the Agency's last Strategic Workforce Plan.

(tf) Summary of Planned Workforce Changes

    (B) NGP Requested Workforce. Changes

(WIPOUO) NGA carefully manages the judicious and prudent use of Federally Funded Res.earch Development Center (FFRDC) Staff-Years of Technical Effort (STE) to ensure that the nature of the. requirements can only be fulfilled by FFRDC partners .. While STEs are decreasing, NGA FFRDC partners work on some. of the most challenging issues confronting the GEOINT discipline and provide unique perspective, technical knowledge, and world class expertise. NGA's FY 2013 STE request includes suppoxt for:

    (B) Conclusion

(Uh'FOUO). The. FY 2013. budget request reflects a continuation of NGA's Vision to provide. on-line, on-demand access to GEOINT knowledge and to create new value by broadening and deepening analytic expertise. In pursuing these goals, NGA will enhance. its support for all national security objectives and maintain its role. in creating a decisive information advantage for national policymakers and operational components.

    (B-) MISSION MANAGEMENT/TASKING (U) MISSION READINESS

    (B) Project Description

(U//FOUO) The Mission Readiness (MR) Project enables NGA to partner with the Services. to optimize the contributions of GEOINT to military operations and training, offer NGA insights into customer use of GEOINT products, and devise. mission-specific. production and technical solutions to meet operational needs.

    (B) Base resources in this. project are used to:

    • (.Y.) Facilitate interaction between the Services and NGA.

    • (-D7 Manage NGA military manpower.

    • (U.) Advocate Service GEOINT needs to NGA and promote. !the NSG transformation plans to the Services.

    • ~ Incorporate GEOINT activities into Service training curricula to ensure the Services maintain GEOINT expertise, which can be lost during normal military attrition.

    • El:f) Support deploying forces with GEOINT expertise through pre-deployment training or direct NGA deployed support within the unit

    • (ljj Synchronize and integrate NGA participation in national, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), and Service pre-deployment exercises. This participation is. the. primary mechanism for providing GEOINT training to individuals, staffs, and Service units to enable them to effectively train as they fight and significantly impact a combatant commander's ability to leverage GEOINT solutions to. assigned missions.

    • (.Y.) Coordinate NGA contributions. to DoD readiness assessment programs and Joint Strategic Capabilities Plans (JSCPs).

    • (B) Conduct NGA-wide assessments of operational mission readiness.

    • (Uif.F'OUO) Support the agency's Lessons Learned Program, intelligence campaign plans, and maintenance of the Agency Mission Essential Task List.

(.Y.) There are no new activities in this project for FY 2013.

(Yi NGP expects the project to accomplish the following in FY 2013:

    • ty.) Continue, at a reduced level, production of aeronautical and maritime products for the Services. while promoting the Services' use of Electronic Flight Boards.

    • (*f) Continue to manage NGA participation in national, CJCS, and Service pre-deployment exercise programs; and assess NGA's operational mission readiness.
