Developed by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), the NCWF categorizes, organizes and describes cyber security work so that employers, employees, training providers and policy makers have a systematic way for organizing the way we think and talk about cyber security, and what training the modern cyber security workforce requires. The NCWF has seven high-level categories, each comprised of several specialty areas. Each specialty area is defined by one or more tasks, as well as the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) required to complete the tasks. In essence, the NCWF outlines all the components needed to make up the ideal Cyber Security Workforce.
