•Accepting applications July through November 1 •Informational meeting held in October (family and friends are encouraged to attend) •Registration Ends (application packet complete) in November •There is a mandatory meeting in December for all students accepted into the academy •Contact NCC Fire and Health Services for more information or to receive an application packet. • Upon completion, candidates will acquire the following certifications: - Firefighter (IFSAC) - Haz Mat Level 1 Responder (IFSAC) - Incident Command System 100 & 200 - Emergency Vehicle Driver - Technical Rescuer (IFSAC) • Additional training in the following areas: - Health and Nutrition - Physical Fitness - Firefighter Survival - Rapid Intervention Team - May Day - Interview Techniques • The NCC Firefighter Academy is approximately 18 weeks (six week EMT class typically begins within two weeks of the end of each Firefighter Academy). • Begins each January This academy is about more than certifications! Its purpose is to prepare each candidate for a fulfilling career in the fire service. The NCC Firefighter Academy’s mis- sion is to instill discipline, character, professionalism, teamwork, integrity, credibility and the physical ability, knowledge and skills to perform as a firefighter in a safe manner.
