The video clips I’ve watched are the one featuring Benguet, Ilo-ilo, and Antique. These videos aimed to show the audience the real hardships that they face. In the Benguet video, we are informed that the gap between the rich and the poor is the biggest among the ASEAN countries (at the time the video was made). There are tons and tons of rocks containing minerals and gold but the salary of the miners are simply not enough. In Ilo- ilo, they have no irrigation for their farming. They are the ones who provide us food yet they do not have food themselves. Harvest facilities are too expensive and the farm-to-market roads are not ideal. They work hard but they simply do not earn enough. In Antique, they have the ideal land for farming but they’re the ones left with nothing much to eat. Children are undernourished and most of the time hungry. In these three videos we can see that in the three places, they do not earn enough to live a comfortable life. Some people think that poor people remain poor because they are lazy but in these videos, it is evident that they do work hard. I quote, “The Philippines is a beggar sitting on a pile of gold.” We can see this in all the videos. We have enough resources but somehow, Filipinos are still suffering. Benguet faces this problem because there is no better job for them to do around there. Mining may just be the only choice they have. They might continue to face these problems because eventually, sometime in the future, they may run out of minerals to mine. It’s difficult as it is for them to earn money because mining doesn’t earn enough money for them. In Ilo-ilo, this problem is persistent because they still do not have a body of water that is relatively near for them to use. Sometimes they have to return to the well four times in order to get enough water. As long as the people in higher positions don’t do something about this, they will still be experiencing hardship. Antique has ideal land for farming but they do not have enough to eat. Because of this, children are undernourished and schooling becomes difficult for them. If the youth’s really our chance for the betterment of our system, how is it going to be for Antique if the children there cannot study properly? How good are their

The video clips Ive watched are the one featuring Benguet, Ilo-ilo, and Antique. In Ilo-ilo, they have no irrigation for their farming. They are the ones who provide us food yet they do not have food themselves. Harvest facilities are too expensive and the farm-to-market roads are not ideal. They work hard but they simply do not earn enough. In Antique, they have the ideal land for farming but theyre the ones left with nothing much to eat. Children are undernourished and most of the time hungry. In these three videos we can see that in the three places, they do not earn enough to live a comfortable life. Some people think that poor people remain poor because they are lazy but in these videos, it is evident that they do work hard. I quote, The Philippines is a beggar sitting on a pile of gold. We can see this in all the videos. We have enough resources but somehow, Filipinos are still suffering.Benguet faces this problem because there is no better job for them to do around there. Mining may just be the only choice they have. They might continue to face these problems because eventually, sometime in the future, they may run out of minerals to mine. Its difficult as it is for them to earn money because mining doesnt earn enough money for them. In Ilo-ilo, this problem is persistent because they still do not have a body of water that is relatively near for them to use. Sometimes they have to return to the well four times in order to get enough water. As long as the people in higher positions dont do something about this, they will still be experiencing hardship. Antique has ideal land for farming but they do not have enough to eat. Because of this, children are undernourished and schooling becomes difficult for them. If the youths really our chance for the betterment of our system, how is it going to be for Antique if the children there cannot study properly? How good are their chances for development? As long as the system does not change, the state Antique (and two other places) will not improve.
