Department of Education Division of City of Balanga District II BANI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL S.Y. 2013  2014 NARRATIVE REPOR T On DSPC RSPC 2013 According to former Education Secretary Jesli Lapus, in the fight against poverty and extreme hunger, the advocacy should start from the young. He said, “There is power in the pen and we highlight this in our school journalists and their publications. We enlist their active participation in this advocacy because our young  journalists know ho w to optimize the power of communication.” “We can also expect that the government will find more community stakeholders who will be our partner in overcoming poverty and hunger,” he added. Journalism by simple means is the propagation of implementing rules, policies, etc. and the dissemination of valuable information by the use of various media. Decrease in poverty amplified a much-needed boost in national economy come to follow as the people go hand in hand and work with the heart to ameliorate the conditions of the environment. Likewise, Bani E lementary School Pape r Advisers joined the ad vocacy of having future campus journalists that will lead a way to open the mind not only of the students in our school but for every one where they can extend their thoughts through writing. As SPA`s we attended the “Division Seminar Workshop for School Paper Advisers” which was held on June 27 -28, 2013, this aims to inform us about the importance of pen as a means of developing young campus journalists in our respective schools. After the seminar, we as SPA`s in our school trained the potential campus  journalists to join the Division Sc hool Paper Contest which was held on October 10 - 11, 2013 at Balanga Elemen tary School. Our very o wn Jessica Claire Cariaga got 3 rd  Place in Science and Health Writing Category. A pride of Bani Elementary School for her enthusiasm to discover and learn more. Through that she became the representative of our Division in the RSPC 2013, with theme Campus Jouurnalism and Transformational Leadership which was held on November 28-29, 2013 at Fontana Leisure Parks Clarkfield, Angeles City.
