1st Person Narration
A first person narration is written using “I” and “we”
When you write in first person, you’re talking about yourself.
Examples:!I went to English class. !We went out for ice cream after practice.!My mom packs my lunch every day.
* If a story is written in 1st person, the narrator is a character in the story.

2nd Person Narration
A second person narration is written using “you”
When you write in second person, you’re talking to the reader.
Examples: !You went to the movies with Malcolm.!Your dad made you dinner yesterday. !You and Dani are best friends.
* Very few books are written this way, if it is, it is meant to make the reader the main character.

3rd Person Narration
Third person narration is written using “he” or “she”
When you write in third person, you are writing about other people without mentioning yourself.
Examples:!He made a very difficult decision. !Allie and Jodie created rival tribes. !The main character matured over the course of the novel.
* In a story with 3rd person narration, the narrator is not a character in the story.
