Louisa (Lou) ClarkShe has a 26 year old woman who is creative, talented andfunny but underestimates herself and has few ambitions.Her life changes when she begins working as a caretakerfor a paralyzed man.

William (Will) TraynorHe has a 35 year old man who became quadriplegicafter a motorbike accident. He is intelligent andwealthy, but his impairment has left him moody, angry,and bitter.

Camilla Traynor – Will’s mother who has a strained relationship with her son. She is severeand strict but she cares about her son’s well-being.

Steven Traynor – Will’s father who was mostly absent from his children’s lives; CamillaTraynor blames him for destroying their family. He wants to divorce Camilla.

Katrina (Treena) Clark – Louisa’s younger sister who is a single mother, who works atflower shop. She has always been regarded as the most intelligent sibling.

Patrick – Louisa’s boyfriend who works as a personal trainer. He is obsessed with sportsand diet.

Nathan – Will’s nurse and caretaker who is also his friend.

History

Louisa Clark has Twenty six year old and she lives with her working class family. She is a woman unambitious and with few qualifications, she feels constantly outshone by her younger sister, Treena, an outgoing single mother.

One day Louisa, who helps support her family, loses her job at a local cafe.

She goes to the Job Centre and, after several failed attempts, is offered a unique employment opportunity

She will help care for Will Traynor, a successful, wealthy, and once active young man who was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident two years earlier.

Will's mother, Camilla, hires Louisa despite her lack of experience, believing Louisa can brighten his spirit.

After Louisa meets Nathan, who cares for Will's medical needs, and Will's father, Steven, a friendly upper-class businessman whose marriage to Camilla is strained.

Louisa and Will's relationship starts rockybecause of their bitterness and resentmentat being disabled.

Lou tried every day something new to getcloser to Will, but he always rejected her.

Until one day things get worse after Will'sex-girlfriend, Alicia, and his best friendRupert reveal they're getting married.

Under Louisa's care Will will gradually becomemore communicative and open-minded whensharing experiences together.

Shortly after working at the Traynor's houseLouisa heard a conversation between Will'sparents where they said that Will wanted to endhis life.

Camilla promised to honor her son's wish, butonly if she agreed to live for six more months.Camilla intends to show that, over time, she willbelieve that it is worth living.

It's when He decides not to let Will finish his life. She tells Treena, and together they inventways that will help convince Will to abandon his death wish.

Lou creates many activities to distract Will and get him out of his rut.

The first time invites him to a Hippodrome thinking that would be a good idea, but this attemptwas a complete failure.

The second time Lou invited Will to a recital of Opera, without thinking that she would be boredall night. But that's when Will starts to feel free and to fall in love with her.

One day talking to the garden Lou invites Will to his birthday and he tells her that he will but only if she accompanies him to the marriage of Alice and Rupert.

Both attend the ceremony and have a great night, forgetting everyone around and having fun as they did a lot.

And then Will told Lou "You're the only thing that makes me wake up in the morning"

And she answered then let's go away to a place where only you and I are.

Because of Louisa's boyfriend jealousy she decides to break up with him. To be able to devote himselfcompletely to caring for Will.

Lou and Will travel to a paradise, alongwith the sand and the beach where theyspend very beautiful moments.

But at the end of the last day Will tells Louthat his decision will not change becausehe loves her, because the life he is living isnot life.

Louisa tells Will's mom that everything failed thatshe could not help her son, forgive her and thatshe will not continue working for the Traynoranymore.

Disconsolate Lou talks to his dad and asks what he can do to help Will, how he makes him change in his decision. And Dad responds "You can not change people just love them"

Louisa immediately travels to Switzerland to be in the lastmoments with Will and to support him in his decision.They give their last kiss and Will tells Lou not to cry forhim, to be free and learn to live.

A few weeks later Louisa receives a letter from Will where she tells him that she will leave hermoney so she can study and live without worries.Go to Paris and have a coffee in front of the Eiffel Tower and try a perfume that he is sure to gowith his personality.He says goodbye, "Live Lou Solo lives."

Personal conclusion about the book

Sometimes true love is that which isdemonstrated by deeds, but not bywords.

And learning to live without someone isbetter than to live watching it suffer.
