to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and his wife Heeraben.

Post-graduation in political science Was married to Jashodaben Chimanlal at

Joined Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, a student organization.

Was involved in “Nav Nirman”, anti-corruption movement.

Nominated as a representative in the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Elected as a student leader of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

Involved in a lot of socio-political movements in Gujarat.

Became a part of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a social and cultural organization of India

Imbibed a spirit of nation-before-self and service-to –the- needy.

Entered mainstream politics by joining BJP in 1987.

Within a year assumed the responsibility of the General Secretary of Gujarat.

Was elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001.

Development of Gujarat Infrastructure-BIG 2020.

11 airports, one international airport, an extension rail network and a robust bus network.

More than 98% villages in Gujarat are connected with concrete roads.

September 2013, BJP announced Modi as their Prime Ministerial candidate.

Contested elections from two constituencies: Varanasi and Vadodara.

Got support from spiritual leaders like Baba Ramdev and economists, Jagdish Bhagwati and Arvind Panagariya.

Google hangouts and holograms for campaign appearances.

Posted a selfie on twitter and a victory tweet which emerged as the most retweeted in India.
