What an amazing SUPER student Eric is.
He has morphed into a very
independent young man this year. Eric is
a SUPER listener and is showing SUPER
confidence to answer questions and talk
to others. He is SUPER friendly and has
SUPER beautiful manners. Eric has
worked so hard to be a SUPER writer and
SUPER speller. He is a SUPER STAR at
reading. Eric has a SUPER special sense
of humour and delights in sharing jokes.
If you need your washing machine or
fan fixed call Eric. Or maybe you need
to send a message or need a light
technician? Yep, call in the expert, Mr.
Eric. Wow Eric!! What a SUPER STAR you
are! We love having you in the 1/2 L
team.
Natalie has made an amazing
transformation into a super confident and
diligent student this year. She has
blossomed into a mature student and has
shown awesome improvements in reading,
writing and maths. Natalie has improved
her handwriting and loves to draw and
create things. She enjoys talking and
learning new words. Natalie is a wonderful
and caring friend to everyone and always
makes us feel happy with her bubbly
personality. Natalie likes to discover and
explore new things and is working hard to
be resilient. Keep up the brilliant work,
Natalie. We are very proud of the fantastic
things you are achieving and the good
choices you are making.

GROWTH between Grade 3-5
We look at growth because it is one of the indicators
of student improvement between testing years. We
aim for at least a years expected growth in a 12
month cycle- or two year’s worth of growth in
NAPLAN terminology. We like to see HIGH growth,
which is above the expected 2 year’s growth. (NR-
means no Grade 3 result to compare)
Reading- High, 10, Medium 8, Low, 5 NR, 5.
Writing- High, 8, Medium 8, Low, 7 NR, 4.
Spelling- High, 10, Medium 8, Low, 5 NR, 5.
Grammar- High, 10, Medium 9, Low, 4 NR, 5.
Numeracy- High, 16, Medium 7, NR, 4.
We will follow our annual data map and analyse this
data more rigorously in the future weeks to
determine causes, impacting factors and future
actions. I just wanted to share the positives so far-
well done to our fabulous team of teachers,
education support staff, parents and of course our
fantastic students!
I am super proud of you all! Well done Bundarra!!!
Have fun!
‘Resilience is not what happens
to you. It’s how you react to,
respond to, and recover from
what happens to you’
Resilience
The ability to cope with unexpected
or unwelcome changes or
challenges in life.
Life is full of changes, some that we
like and some that we don’t like.
Being resilient or being able to
bounce back can help us deal with
these challenges more easily. We
can build our resilience by thinking of
it as a muscle that can grow and get
stronger with practice. Every time
you manage something difficult your
resilience muscles get stronger and
you are better able to deal with
situations each time they arise.
Resilience can be described as:
Bouncing back after difficult times
Dealing with challenges and still
holding your head up
Giving things a go or trying your
best
Being strong on the inside
Being able to cope with what life
throws at you and shrug it off
Standing up for yourself
Go online: Tell your family what you have
learnt about resilience and how
you practice it at school.
Brainstorm ideas about how you
can practice resilience at home
too!
Foundation’s lesson focused on the
function of keyboards. After
discussing how they work, FM
‘assembled’ their keyboards and
were challenged to consider
creative keyboard functions.
“My special key would make
pandas appear in the room” - Bella
What special key would be on your
keyboard? A key which
automatically completes your
homework? Orders you ice cream?
Makes your classmates hop on one
foot?
Our school concert this year will
take place on Friday 11th October.
Students will be working with our
Artists in residence to create a
magical Circus themed
performance for you! Tickets will be
available for purchase towards the
end of term. We will let you know
when they are available.
