NAPKIN RING LIMITED EDITION Sewing Supplies: • HUSQVARNA VIKING ® sewing machine • Various ribbons, 2-3 cm (1") wide and approx. 2,5 m (98 ⅜") long (depending on how dense you want your flower) • A small piece of thick felt for the base of the flower • 8 cm (3 ⅛”) x 26 cm (10 ¼”) coarse linen • 8 cm (3 ⅛”) x 26 cm (10 ¼”) lining • Cloth for piping (cut on the bias) • 60 cm (23 ⅝”) cord for piping • Decorative ribbon • Thread for seams and decoration • 1 button • INSPIRA™ Tear-A-Way stabilizer • Medium weight fusible interface HUSQVARNA VIKING ® accessories: • Sensor one-step buttonhole foot (EDEN ROSE™ 250C) • Automatic buttonhole foot EDEN ROSE™ 250M) • Gathering foot (412797145) • Clear Piping foot (413097145) • Braiding foot (412989845) 1 Sewing Napkin ring: For best results, apply fusible interfacing to both linen and lining and use a layer of INSPIRA™ Tear-A-Way stabilizer when you decorate your napkin ring. Sew a decorative stitch along the long side of the linen strip. Remember the stitching has to be within the seam allowance. (Illustration 1) Use your marking pen to mark placement of the ribbon, leaving space on the short end for the button and the buttonhole. Also leave space in the center where the rose will be positioned. Snap on the braiding foot and slide the ribbon through guide in the foot. Sew along your marking. (Illustration 2) 2

Attachthepipingtobothof thelongsidesof thelinenstrip.Tip:adjusttheneedlepositiontotheleftonesteptocoverthefirstseam.
Sewonabutton,thenplaceliningandembellishedlinenstriprightsidestogetherandstitcharoundthreesides;leaveoneshortsideopen.(Illustration4)Turnrightsideout.Foraneaterseamallowance,pullasmallpieceof cordfromyourpipingandtrim.(Illustration5)

Usethegatheringfoottogatheryourribbon.Selectleftneedlepositionstraightstitch.Adjustthestitchlength3-6(EDENROSE™250C)or3-4(EDENROSE™250M)(Illustration6)Thelongerthestitch,themoregatherstherewillbe.If youplantousemorethanoneribbon,werecommendgatheringoneatatimeandthenstitchingthemtogetherbeforeyoustartshapingyourrose.(Illustration7)
Cutasmallcircleof thickfelttocreateabaseforyourrose.Drawaspirallineasaguide,showingwheretoattachyourribbon.(Illustration8)
Attachthegatheredribbonwithastraightstitchworkingfromtheoutsidetowardsthecenterof theflower.Stitchtherowsquiteclosetogethersothebasecannotbeseenthroughthem.Useapairof tweezerstopulltheribbonintothemiddle.(Illustration9)
Startandfinishtheflowerbyfoldingbacktheendsof theribbonsotheyarenotvisible.
Finally,attachyourroseandyournapkinringisfinished.
