SENSOR
• A sensor is an instrument that responds to a physical stimulus (such as heat, light, sound, pressure, magnetism, or motion)
• It collects and measures data regarding some property of a phenomenon, object, or material.
• Sensors are an important part to any measurement and automation application

NANOSENSOR
An extremely small device capable of detecting and responding to physical stimuli and dimensions on the order of one billionth of a meter.
Physical stimuli: Biological and chemical substances, displacement, motion, force, mass, thermal and electromagnetic.

WHY ONLY NANOSENSORS??
• They are much smaller than conventional sensors, so they could be placed on a small test strip of paper or other material.
• Nano materials improve the sensitivity and sppd of detection, and detect multiple targets due to their unique properties.

LATEST NEWS REGARDING NANOSENSORS
Written by James McIntosh – Dated : Thu 17 September 2015 at 8am PST
A vital goal of diagnostic medicine is to be able to diagnose medical problems as swiftly as possible, enabling clinicians to treat patients before any irreversible or long-lasting damage can occur.

Written by United Press International These large numbers "may appear impressive but they hide the fact that the nanosensor market
will be highly fragmented," said Lawrence Gasman, a principal analyst for NanoMarkets, a nanotechnology analysis firm in Sterling, Va.
