DID YOU KNOW? |“One-sheets”were

originally used in

the music industry

to promote new

artists and albums.

They’re now

used by many

professionals

to promote

themselves and

their services.

ContentSection 1: SPEAKING TOPICS, BOOKS, AREAS OF EXPERTISE

List your topics and a concise description of content. Include at least two if possible. If you have only one topic, describe it well to make it irresistible.

EXAMPLE:Talk Less, Say More | 3 Habits to Influence Others & Make Things HappenAre distracted, impatient people tuning you out before you can make your point? In this program, you’ll learn to bring your A-game to interpersonal communication. Your audience will walk away with three powerful habits to help you connect with anyone, convey information clearly, and convince anyone to take action.

Section 2: BIO

This is a snapshot of your experience, education and expertise. If you already have an “elevator pitch” use that as a basis. Include any awards you have received or special recog-nition which supports your goals.

1. Who are you? What are you known for? What problems do you solve? What makes you different? What gets you excited about your work?

EXAMPLE: Nancy Juetten is a word wizard, engaging workshop leader, and Bye-Bye Boring Bio author on a quest to guide mission-driven experts to spell out their greatness and broadcast their brilliance through the power of storytelling and publicity. Whether clients seek to attract clients, speaking gigs, or media attention, they learn to welcome those results by acting on Nancy’s road-tested and proven advice to tell stories all their own. Best of all, they broadcast their brilliance with confidence, readiness, and ease so the right people can celebrate, invest, and benefit. She has addressed worldwide audiences by teleseminar, webinar, and live to rave reviews and looks for-ward to having the opportunity to deliver her brand of WOW for your audience.

2. What makes you an expert? Describe your background to lend credibility. Event plan-ners want to know whether your name will attract an audience.

EXAMPLE: David Meerman Scott is a marketing strategist, author of eight books (including three interna-tional bestsellers), advisor to emerging companies, and professional speaker on topics including marketing, leadership, and social media. He is the #1 international bestselling author of The New Rules of Marketing and PR, now in its fourth edition with more than 300,000 copies sold in more than 25 languages from Bulgarian to Vietnamese.

3. List one or two things about yourself that might surprise your audience. These can be humorous if that’s appropriate to your message. This gives a bit of personality to your One-Sheet content and helps you stand out from the competition.

EXAMPLE:Cathy climbed Mt. Everest after a year of conditioning and says the view from the top of the world is indescribable.

Section 3: TESTIMONIALS

Audience: List testimonials from audience members and/or clients. If you don’t already do so, use an Evaluation Form so your audience/clients can easily provide you with feedback. Use this to develop a good list of testimonials. If you don’t have an evaluation system in place already, ask past participants to supply you with comments about their experience and how you filled a need. What did they feel as a result of your presentation or counsel?Event Organizers/Clients: These testimonials can be more powerful than audience com-ments, since they illuminate your ability to satisfy your clients.

EXAMPLES: “The highest rated presenter at our Fortune Small Business magazine ‘Sales and Marketing Sum-mit’ – in front of hundreds of our nation’s top mid-market CEOs and executives …”

“After all these years of being in the National Speakers Association, seldom am I taken with a speaker. But tonight, I became a huge fan of Nancy Juetten from Seattle. This woman is amazing. Smart, funny, real. I learned a lot.”

“I got more from Morgana’s 45 minutes speech than three days at T Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive.”

TIP |Always include a

large space where

testimonials can

be written on your

evaluation form.

Don’t forget to ASK

that the forms be

completed, and

include a disclaimer

that content on the

form may be used

in your marketing

plan.

Section 4: CLIENTS

List clients you have spoken for or worked with. Recognizable names are best—if you don’t have any yet, you might choose to leave this section blank. Include their company website and name/title of your client if you have permission. Be a name-dropper if you can! Po-tential clients love to see who you’ve worked with in the past. There’s comfort in knowing they’re part of a proven group. You can use a list of names, or logos if they’re recognizable. You must provide the logos if you plan on using them.

EXAMPLE:

© Coyote Press Graphic Communications & Nancy S. Juetten Marketing, Inc. 7

Section 5: MARKETING MESSAGE

Message: This is a short, powerful message that draws attention and makes you a compelling choice. Talk about the benefits of your presentation or consulting session, both immediate and long-term. In a few words tell me what I will get. List 3-5 benefits your audience or client will enjoy.

EXAMPLE:Why Connie Is the Real Deal for Your GroupSmart, warm, and insightful, Connie delivers high-content programs for your audiences with a low-maintenance experience for you. A true professional, she will personally ensure that your group is fully engaged and empowered to implement what they learn during their program.

Headline: A compelling headline is important to the success of your One-Sheet. Your headline should be eye-catching and interesting enough to draw readers in.

EXAMPLES:Inspiring Your Audience to Get Known to Get Paid!Rally Your Resilience; Reach Your Summits in Business and Life

TIP |There are many

“headline

generators”

online to help

with headline

construction.

Experiment with

them if a headline

isn’t coming to you.

Google for a list to

choose from.

© Coyote Press Graphic Communications & Nancy S. Juetten Marketing, Inc. 8

Section 6: CALL TO ACTION

ASK for the job. Do so in a concise way and be direct.

EXAMPLES:

TO LEARN MORE OR TO BOOK DAVID FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT, CALL

Don’t Wait Another Minute – Book Claudia for Your Keynote Today!

Section 7: CONTACT INFORMATION

Make it easy for potential clients to reach you. Include your name and your “tagline” if you use one (e.g., “The Marketing Diva”). Include phone, email, website, social media links, mailing address. Feature your website prominently to “hook” readers and expose them to your videos or whatever else is on your site that isn’t in your One-Sheet.

TIP |You can purchase a

street address from

the UPS Store. This

is not a PO Box, but

a real address.

Section 8: BRANDING

LOGO: Your logo is an important visual for your One-Sheet. You will need to provide a high resolution file of your logo. This can be a PDF, JPG, EPS or AI file, and it MUST be 300 dpi. We can’t use a logo file that has been downloaded from the Internet, as these files are typically only 72 dpi and are not acceptable for printing; they will be blurry or pixilat-ed and give you an unprofessional result.

What logo files do you have available?

☐ PDF ☐ JPG ☐ EPS ☐ AI ☐ Other: ___________

STYLE: Your One-Sheet should be in a similar style family as other materials you use, including your website. How would you define your style?

Section 9: PHOTOS

Photos of you are essential for a One-Sheet. Studio shots are good, action shots are best. If you haven’t yet done a professional photo shoot, please consider it. And always, always plan to have professional photos taken at speaking engagements, events or workshops. This collection of posed and candid images will be invaluable in all your marketing efforts. Also consider having video taken at your next engagement, and post an edited clip on your website.Include photos of your books or products.

List the number photos you have available that are high resolution (300 dpi):

Raves About this Talk

You were brilliant Nancy!! My audience fell in love with you. If anyone else has a live event com-ing up and you want an amazing guest speaker, book Nancy NOW!!!

–Tiamo De Vettori Your stage performance was flaw-less, inspiring and valuable. You were my favorite guest-speaker because of your brilliant ability to intertwine valuable modeling of what you are teaching WHILE sharing relate-able humble stories from your life. I was with you on your lounge-chair wearing just a bathing-suit with ice-tea in one hand, Oprah’s magazine on your lap, and Brene Brown’s book on a table on the side while taking THE phone call. Hope to see you more often on stages in SoCAL!

— Sylvia Becker-Hill

Your presentation was a highlight of the speaker’s conference. You get my ‘Stand Out Speaker’ award. Articulate, clear, brief, helpful!

— Marilyn Miller

Nancy Juetten is a master of mes-saging and a humble, loving spirit whose personality shines through on stage. I was wow’ed by her wis-dom and loved how she seamlessly brought in fun stories to illuminate her message. So often you get speakers who talk about their low points (e.g. “I woke up in a pool of my own blood . . .) But Nancy is refreshing, creative and chock full of advice. She’s a poet who doesn’t know it — and I loved, loved, loved it. — Michele Moreno | Business
