NAP-LES, Fla. - George S. Woodbury, 'n, also of Turner Street. Auburn, died Tuesday in Naples:
He was born in Lewiston, Maine, a son of Samuel S. and Verna Hayes Woodbury, attended school in Auburn, . Maine, and was a graduate of Edward Little High School iliere. 1
Mr. Woodbury served wiili the Army during World , War II. '
He married Julia Wallingford on Nov. 18, 1944. She.' died Dec. 10, 1978.
Mr. Woodbury was the former president" of LewistonAuburn United Grocers, a member of High Street ' Congregational Church in Auburn, and a member of Tranquil Masonic Lodge of Auburn, which he served as :nasterin 1964. He also served on The Shrine Circus : ommittee.
A member of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club, and rhe Robin Dow and First Auburn Senior Citizens.
A son, William Woodbury, died Ocl10, 1983. Surivors include a daughter, Janie Camilleri of Hilton
Head, S.C.; two sons, Thomas of Basking Ridge, N.J ., and David of Scarborough, Maine; a sister, Mary Hamilton of Temecula, Calif.; a brother, Richard of Auburn; and three grandchildren. .
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at High Street Congregational Church, Auburn. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. Arrangements are by The Fortin Group, Plummer & Menill Funeral Home, Auburn.

JAMES LEROY WOODBURY MORRILL - James LeRoy Wood
bury, 89, died April 1, 1992, at his residence in Morrill. He was bam in Morrill, Oct. 2, 1902, the son of An· drew and Emma {Cushman) Wood. ' bury. For many years, he had been a · dairy farmer in Morrill. He was a member of Honesty Grange in Morrill since the age of 14; a member of the Morrill Historical Society; a member of the Morrill Baptist Church; and a member of Quantobacook Lodge No. 129 of Masons of Searsmont. He had been ·a member of the Moine State Legislature and the Governor's Council. He was born, lived, and died in the some home in Morrill. He is survived by one sister, Leona Woodbury of Methuen, Mass.; several riieces · and nephews. He is remembered by his close friends, Lawrence and Donna Doolan and family. Friends may call at Rackliffe Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Belfast, 7-9 P<ffi· Friday, where a Masonic service will be held 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Morrill Baptist Church with the Rev. He was a 50-year member of the Hlpland ~e Grange and a SOygr m~mber of the Warren-PhilUp. Lodse of Mason•. Mr. Woodbury was a e~rter member of the Prides Comer Kiwanis Club and a member of the Highland Lake Church.
He is surviYe(f by his wife, the former t.o\Jwlne Petei'IOn; a son, Lyman K. Jr., of Marietta, Ga.; a daupter, H. Loul~e Wayeott, of We•tbrook; six ~dehildren and tbrw great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hay Funeral Home, 795 Main St. Interment will be in the Highland Lake Cemetery, We.tbrook.

of 26 Chesapeake St., S.W., Washington, D. c ., died yesterday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Irene S. MacVane, Brackett Ave., Peaks Island, after a brief illness.
lte was born In South Portland, A~. 24, 1869, son of the late Thomas E. and Julia Todd Woodbury, and attended South Portland schools. He was well lknown In the entertainment world with over 70 years as a stage carpenter with Schubert shows, Sarah Bernhardt, Anna Held, Nazimova and others.
Several years before he moved to Washington he was with the local Civic Theater.
He attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist, was a member of Portland Lodge, AF&AM.: Greenleaf Chapter, RAM.; Portland Council, ~ SM; Portland Commandery, KT; Maine Consistory, 32nd degree, Scottish Rite, and Kora Shrine Temple, Lewiston, and the Order of Golden Cross.
Hla wife, the former Elizabeth Googins, died In 1939.
He is surviv~ by another daughter, Mrs. Fidelia T . Litchfield, Washington, D.C.; six grandchildr~n and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m . Saturday at 749 Con
rgress Street, with Interment in Forest City c emetery.

He was born in Morrill on July 7, 1902, the son of Frank and Alma Woodbury. He graduated from Belfast High School
He and his wife, the former Elizabeth • Harding, would have c;elebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on December 24, 1994.
He was the owner of Woodbury Motor. company on Bay Street, a dealer in Chrysler and Plymouth automobiles in the Winslow and Waterville area for 62 years.
He was a member of.the Waterville Ex· change Club for many years; a past president of the Mvine Automo\>ile Dealers Association; a member of the Waterville Lodge No. 33, AF & AM; and he sup: ported the Town of Winslow and·many local activities.
He was predeceased by one daughter, . ~ Christine W. Winkin, in 1983; one brother, Lemuel Woodbury, and one sister, r
, Alma Thompson·. Survivors ·include his wife, Elizabeth,
of Winslow; one son-in-Jaw, John W. Winkin of Orono; one grandson and his , wife, David W. and Cheryl Winkin of Winslow; one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Winkin of Waterville; three great-
1 grandchildren, Jonathan, Christine, and Matthew; and one nephew, Francis Woodoury of Morrill. .

Mr. Woodbury was born at Kennebunk May 5, 1891, son of Stanwood A. and Allee Townsend woodbury. The familY moved to New Gloucester when he was four . .
He was gradu,ted from the high school there in 1909 and went to work at · the Boston Tea Store. Lewiston, ~e same year. He became sole owner of the store in 1921.
Mr. Woodbury was a medtber of Cumberland Lodge, AF&AM. New GloUcester; and of Kora Temple, M y s t 1 c Shrine, and Mt. Olivet Chapter, OES, both of Lewiston. He was vice president of the Lewiston and Auburn United <lrocers. t
He is survived by his widow. Mrs. Verna Hayes Woodbury;J three sons, Richard, George S. and Donald E. Woodbury all of Auburn ; a daughter, Mrs. Bertwell Hamilton Jr., Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Heath, Bridgton, and Mrs. Louise Arnett, Clermont, Fla.; a brother, Paul L. Woodbury, New Gloucester, and five grandchildren.
