Testing at Delphi
- Vibration:- Originally planned on Sine Sweep- New plan is to run 4G RMS test- 6 total tests minimum planned
- 2 in each coordinate plane
- Temperature:- Cold/Hot soaking capabilities at facility- If time permits, will look at doing a test after cold soak
- Shock Test:- Looking into doing a 27 G shock test
5
Simulations - Modal Analysis
6Mode 1 Mode 2 Mode 3
Simulations - Random Vibe
7
X Axis Y Axis Z Axis
Simulations - G force loading
8
Switch Placement Verification- Adjusting switch location for final placement- Washers/nuts do not give enough fine adjustment- Opted for threaded rod instead of shims
- 4-40 rod offers .003” linear movement per ⅛ turn (indicator on back face for ⅛ turn)
9
Future Plans and Needs
- Design/Manufacturing:- Drill final mounting holes once proper location is
determined- Testing:
- Pressure testing (Bell Jar) to verify switch location
- Vibration testing at Delphi- NASA Meeting:
- Meeting with an alumni from NASA. Okay to give overview of project?
