Lifesaving Systems
• Founded in June 2009 after 2 years of development
• Drop-In-Ball and winch system developed with NORSOK R-002 in mind
• First NORSOK R-002 project began around January 2010
• 10 Nadiro employees has been working for a year on NORSOK R-002 development project
• So far app. 50 M DKK has been invested in Nadiro A/S, a majority invested in R&D and
production of NORSOK R-002 compliant equipment.
Background
Lifesaving Systems
• Production facilities shared with mother company SH Group A/S
• 40 years of experience in steel construction, hydraulics, and engineering
• Manufacturer of ROV/AHC winch systems, cable layers, man-riders, offshore hydraulics,
caterpillars, suspension bridge cable-tensioning systems, hydraulics for bridge/ramp systems
• Winch system supplier to MacArtney
Background
Lifesaving Systems
• Maintenance and repairs eased by hatches and lifting lugs
• Container rests on each corner with shock absorbers included
• Emergency stop isolates the winch from the rest of the system
• Environmental protection by ventilation and de-humidification
• Structural safety factors according to NORSOK R-002
• Insulated container panels prevents condensation
• Lifeboat is stabilized inside container

NORSOK R-002 system features:
Oil motor for hoisting with over-load protection
Primary brakes: disc brakes. Secondary brake: oil brake
In case of disc brake failure (no braking torque), oil brake
acts as back-up brake (descent continues without
consequences)
Redundancy in hydraulic supply system
Possibility to ascent the system in no power condition
In case of no power and no back-up power descent
activated by “Pull’n’Go” handle performing descent with oil
brake
Disc brakes are hydraulically activated by accumulators
connected to back-up power system
Back-up accumulator to “start ” descent in case of no
hydraulic pressure

Lifesaving Systems
• Fully redundant release system (single failure)
• Release is not dependent on gravity
• Release can be done with primary or back-up system
• Mode-selector implemented on deck control panel
• Indicator shows when the hydrostatic device is activated and when balls are disengaged

Norsok R002 – Test
• LSA Code testing and beyond
• Brake performance testing
• Constant-tension winch pulling 100 m
• Primary brake system (full SWL)
• Secondary brake system (full SWL)
• Speed control (all loads)
• Thermal load (full SWL and speed)
• Fault injection testing (no single failure)
• Diagnosis system (error codes of components)
Lifesaving Systems
Norsok R002 - Test
• LSA Code + NORSOK R-002 testing and
beyond
• Testing in large list and trim angles (Res.
MSC81.(70) Section 6.9.3.1-3 as
amended by MSC. 226(82))
• Stability (no unintended release)
• Release capability (extreme angles)
• Simultaneous release (all scenarios)
• Consistent performance (on/off-load)
• Primary release system (on/off-load)
• Secondary release system (on/off-load)
