It refers to the form of communication in which messageis transmitted verbally.
Communication is done by word of mouth and a piece ofwriting.
In verbal communication remember the acronym “KISS”KISS”(keep it short and simple).

Oral
In oral communication, Spoken words are used. It includes face-to-face conversations, speech,
telephonic conversation, video, radio, television,voice over internet.
Communication is influence by pitch, volume,speed and clarity of speaking.
Advantages –It brings quick feedback.In a face-to-face conversation, by reading facialexpression and body language one can guesswhether he/she should trust what’s being said ornot.
Disadvantages –In face-to-face discussion, user is unable to deeplythink about what he is delivering, so this can becounted as a fault.

Written
In written communication, written signs or symbolsare used to communicate.
In written communication message can betransmitted via email, letter, report, memo etc.
Written Communication is most common form ofcommunication being used in business.
Advantages –Messages can be edited and revisedWritten communication provide record and backup.A written message enables receiver to fullyunderstand it and send appropriate feedback.

• Nonverbal communication is the sendingor receiving of wordless messages. Suchas gesture, body language, posture, toneof voice or facial expressions, is callednonverbal communication.
• Nonverbal communication is all aboutthe body language of speaker.
Nonverbal communication have thefollowing three elements –
• AppearanceSpeaker – clothing, hairstyle, neatness,use of cosmeticsSurrounding – room size, lighting,decorations, furnishings
