INTRODUCTION

If your screen is cracked be careful when trying to pry off the screen. The broken shards of glass onthe screen may cut you, so be extremely careful. The screen is glued onto the display with sometype of adhesive, so it will take some time to get it off. This process would take a lot of time so bepatient.Do not try to pry off the screen from only one corner or side since it is glass you will justshatter the whole screen.

Étape 1 — Back Assembly

Ensure that the tablet is facing youwith the screen on the table.

Locate the four red rubber stops atthe corners.

Use your fingers to carefully peelthem off the device to reveal thescrews underneath.

Étape 3

Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver toremove the 9.5 mm screw in each ofthe four corners.

Étape 4

Flip the tablet over such that thescreen is facing upwards.

Locate the the 4 small openings onthe sides of the tablet.

There should be 2 on the bottom ofthe tablet, 1 on each side of thetablet viewing it from the front as ifyou were using it.

Do not confuse the openings withthe charging port or the USB ports.The openings will be labelled withan icon of a small fan, the Nabi logo.

Étape 5

Insert a metal spudger into one ofthe openings and carefully pop thedevice open by applying a steadydownward force.

Repeat for the other three openings.

Flip the device over so that the back assembly is facing you.

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry open the device from its hinges.

Take care when opening the device as there are cables running internally that are connected toboth the front and the back assemblies.

Locate the white port that connects the back panel to the circuit board on the back of the display.

Carefully pull the plastic connector straight out.

Étape 8

Be careful of the aluminum foil tape,as it can easily rip.

Carefully lift up the aluminum foiltape with your fingers so that theribbon connector reveals itself.

Do not try to pull the ribbon cablesoff the screen as there is a plasticpiece surrounding the ribbon cablesglued onto the metal display.

Étape 9

Firmly press the two switcheslocated on the sides of theconnector and disconnect theconnector from its connections.

Leave the connector disconnectedbut still intact with the metal display.

Étape 10

Use a plastic opening tool andcarefully push it underneath the greyplastic case surrounding the ribboncable.

Apply a downward force to carefullypeel the grey plastic off of the metaldisplay.

Étape 11

Locate the two cables running onboth sides of the device found at thebottom side of the screen.

Étape 12

Carefully grab both sides of the white plastic piece with your fingers and gently pull directlyupward.

Do not pull from the red and black cable as it is not very sturdy and may come undone from theconnector.

Étape 13 — Screen

Take out the two black 4.5 mmscrews with your Phillips # 1screwdriver and remove the circuitboard.

You want to remove this circuitboard so you can remove the silverscrew that the circuit board isblocking.

Remove each of the 6.5 mm silver screws located on the edges of the display's corners.

Étape 15

Use a heating gun to heat up theside up the side of the screen youwant to pry open.

Evenly distribute the heat aroundthe frame of the screen for optimalresults.

Do not focus the heat on onespecific point for long periods oftime as this may cause the glass tocrack.

Étape 16

Place several iOpeners along thesides of the screen that you are notheating up with the heat gun.

Spread them out around the deviceso the heat can evenly melt theadhesive on the screen.

Be careful when handling theiOpeners as they are hot andcontain a gel that can burn skin ifexposed from the packet.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Use the jimmy and stick it inbetween the screen and the frameand wiggle the jimmy around to tryand loosen the glass screen fromthe frame.

It may take some strength andpatience since the adhesive is stillvery sticky.

Étape 18

Once you create a space betweenthe screen and the frame stick an ifixit pick in the crack to keep thecrack open.

Keep inserting more picks everytime you create some space, soeventually the screen will becompletely separated from theframe.

Use the plastic opening tool tocarefully remove the screen from theframe.
