Accessibility Issues for Seniors: How the ADA Supports Access to Information and ServicesMonday, July 25, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

This training session will review ADA implications for older adults and provide practical advice on how to accommodate a wide range of accessibility needs. A panel of AAA staff will discuss their real-life experiences and approaches.

Join n4a and the Eldercare Locator, along with NASUAD’s Aging and Disability Information and Referral/Assistance (I&R/A) Support Center for this I&R/A Intensive that includes important information for I&R/A professionals of various experience levels. The San Pasqual Academy Neighbors (SPAN) is an intergenerational program for enthusiastic older adults (age 55+) to live on the grounds of a residential high school campus for foster youth. The seniors live in private homes for a reduced rent and serve as surrogate grandparents.
Five and Fit and the Cuyamaca College Intergenerational Garden Wednesday, July 27, 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Five and Fit, an intergenerational program developed by Temple University, focuses on the prevention of childhood obesity by engaging older adult volunteers (age 55+) in a variety
of roles. Older adults guide young preschool children (ages 2-5), as well as their families, toward improved nutrition and enhanced physical activity.
