Well in our September issue my corollary was to be the activities of the last half of the year…. so much for plans. Several acts of folks like Emma and Dixie called my attention to the wonderful attitude of helping without concern of a thank you or any other kudo. The attitude is all around us at the IACofV …we need only look. It is contagious and what has been a prime factor in our growth. This part of the year has so much happening. We had a birthday celebration in mid- September that was a true treat. Also, Justin, Howie, and crew put on another super Pig Roast . So much for the past tense … as we slip into October we are looking forward to the Columbus Day dinner /dance, the birthday disguising as OKTOBERFEST, two Halloweens, a cute one for the kids and a Costume Party for us old ghouls on the 25 th . Join us for all of these great events and enjoy your Club. I’m out of space with a lot left to tell… come on back next time and we’ll take you to the end of the 2014…….. Ciao, Dick C. PIG ROAST was the best yet! A smashing success with 95 people enjoying a fabulous feast! The talented chefs & helpers included: Justin, Howie, Carl W, Steve S, Marino, Ralph, Frank U, Mary, Emma, Linda P, Betty Lou, Grace, Shirley, Judy P, Barbara M, Dick C, Barbara T & Linda B. Once again, the Terzi’s, Justin & Barbara, chaired this popular event & want to thank all of their able helpers! As you can see it takes many willing helpers but also excellent “organizers” to make it a successful event! Mille Grazie to Justin & Barbara! You outdid yourselves & everyone appreciated it! SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION 9/14/14 Pasta Broccoli Rabe was the treat of the day enjoyed by 67 lucky people! It was delicious. Betty Lou & Joe Carbone headed up the kitchen crew & helpers consisting of Justin, Ralph, Dick, Mary, Dixie, Emma, Leona, Karl B on Bar, Bruce on the mic & Linda B at the door. Celebrants Included: Birthdays– Dee Martorana, Carole Schmitz, Vito Mazzilli, Ron DeBacco, Fred McCarthy, Maria Tims, Betty Roselle & Sheila Sullivan. Anniversaries– the Terzi’s 39, the Bastian’s 19, the Carbone’s 28 & the Middaugh’s 52! Best wishes to all! There were 9 new/newer members enjoying the interaction with seasoned members. This event was conceived by Bruce in Jan 2010 to foster comaradie & to serve as a means of giving back to the members. It has been one of the most popular since then! Mark your calendars for Sun. Oct. 12th at 4pm for the next one! An Octoberfest theme featuring Traude Wilson’s special potato salad! Come & enjoy an afternoon of fun, food & friends.
