Report on the Financial Statements

We have audited the accompanying financial statements of Belghoria JanakalyanSamity registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act. 1961(Registration number S/1Ll36292), having it's Registered Office at 13, Rishi BankimRoad, Nimta, Kolkata-700049, which comprise the Balance Sheet as at 31"1 March,2018 and the lncome and Expenditure Account for the year then ended and a summaryof the significant accounting policies and other explanatory information.

Management's Responsibility for the Financial StatementsThe Society's Management is responsible for the preparation of these financialstatements that give a true and fair view of the financial position. This responsibility includesthe design, implementation and maintenance of internal control relevant to the preparationand presentation of the financial statements that give a true and fair view and are free frommaterial misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.

Auditors' ResponsibilityOur responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit.We conducted our audit in accordance with the Standards on Auditing issued by the lnstituteof Chartered Accountants of lndia. Those Standards require that we comply with the ethicalrequirements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance aboutwhether the financial statements are free from material misstatement.

An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and thedisclosures in the financral statements. The procedures selected depend on the auditor'sjudgment, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the financialstatements, whether due to fraud or erToT. ln making those risk assessments, the auditorconsiders the internal control relevant to the Organization's preparation and fair presentationofthe financial statements in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in thecircumstances. Notes on Business Operations

Belqhoria Janakalyan Samlty is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act. 1961 (Registration number511L136292). The organization provides live ihood promotion services through SHG Bank Linkage Programme, mainly to thelow income rural, ut'ban, semi-urban and perl-urban households, comprising of livelihood and oiher micro financal servlces tothose population segments which are mostly un-reached by the formal banking systems with the principal purpose ofpromoting sustainable Livelihoods.

A seven member Executive Committee is ihe highest policy making platform of the organization. These committee membersmeet every quarter to assess performance parameters, to approve budgets and to review growth pian to the organization.Secretary of the organization is bestowed with powers to execute and oversee day to day management of operaiional aspects

Presently the organization reaches to its targeted clients through the nefivork of 26 branches, 6 of which are located in North24 Patganas,3 of which are in l\,{urshidabad, 4 of which are in Alipurduar, I of which are in Coochbehar, 3 are in Jalpalgurland 1 is in Darjee ing district.

The organisation is registered under sectlon 12A(b) and 80G ofthe lncome-tax Act,1961

A. lndia Microfinance Equity Fund (IMEF)

SIDBI has given Slbordinate Debt Assistance of Rs.4.00 core under lndia l\,4icrofinance Equity Fund Scheme (ltu4EF) includinga fresh Rs 2.00 crore during the year. The Sub-ordinated debt is against an interest @ 8% p.a. Sub-ordinated Debt wlll berepaid within 6 years, includlng an initial moratorium of 4 years from the date of disbursement. On Sub-ordinated Debt ofRs 50 lakhs received in earlier years, interest \lr'ill be paid @ 9% and the amount will be repaid withln 6 years, includlng anintral moratorium of 5 years from the daie of first disbursement. Repayment against 1st disbursement has started frornSeptember,2016

KIVA USA has given the interest free Fund as a sector buiding initiative for a period of 3 years for onward lending the fundwlth the option of perpetualy increasing or extending the fund on mainiaining and fulfilment of certa n condition. Theorganisation has started repayment of KIVA-USA fund from March,2017.

Depreciation is provided on the assets following W. D.V. method at the rates appropriate as per the Income Tax Act, 1 961 .

All assets of the organization are tangible fixed assets. During the current financial year fixed assets worih Rs 1330647 hasbeen purchased. The company has not sold or disposed off any assets during the year.
