The retreat center is located about 2 hours drive outside of Bogota city in Colombia, surrounded by nature in a family house where the Shaman and her daughter live, with a very large, beautiful garden where the maloca (the sacred space where

ceremonies are held) and meditation hut are located.

In the retreat there are at most 10 people, making for a truly intimate experience compared to other retreats which often involve 20, 30 or even 40 people. The small,

intimate group setting allows for one-to-one time with the Shaman as well as with Selene & James that you simply couldn’t receive unless you attend a small, intimate

retreat.

Your Shaman, Doña Martha Elana Burgos is from Mocoa, Putumayo. She has been working with yagé (a different way of talking about ayahuasca) for more than 50 years, training with various members of her family. She is also a western-medicine

trained nurse and a traditional Inga curandera (healer).

Doña Martha is a bridge between the old and the new, indigenous and modern, mind and heart; she holds a space between worlds. Her ceremonies carry a deep

Something else that makes this retreat unique in a world of yagé retreats is that ceremonies are held during both the day and night. Many retreats offer ceremonies only during the night. If you experience this sacred medicine only during the night, it’s powerful to be sure, however journeying with this sacred plant during the day offers

you a very different experience.

In the daytime, you are free to explore the beautiful garden (the “Garden of Eden”)

and to interact and receive insights, healing and wisdom from whatever you may encounter and experience. The sun is shining, you’re warm and free, out discovering and exploring our beautiful earth while connected to the spirit of the plant and with

an awareness and energy that you can only experience during daytime hours.

During nighttime ceremonies, most of your time is spent inside the maloca. You don’t move around the garden as much and will likely be spending your time around the

fire or looking at the stars, journeying deep within yourself or exploring far-off spaces and places, rather than discovering and grounding yourself to what we can access

right here on earth, as a daytime ceremony offers you. To journey during the day and night is to fully experience the plant.
