Lenten Series: Stops Along the WayOne of Lent’s purposes is to prepare the believer. This year, our Lenten series is called Stops Along the Way. We will be preparing and discussing important, pragmatic and somewhat uncomfortable, tasks which may make our death easier for our loved ones. During the six Wednesdays of Lent, we will have experts in the areas of palliative care, legal paperwork, hospice care, leaving a legacy, memorial planning, and preparation of the body who will help us understand the importance of taking care of these matters before we are sick or have passed away. Although this may sound gloomy, consider learning how to protect your loved ones from having to make decisions and plans for you. You are never too old or too young to be prepared.

Join us for a church family supper at 5:30pm in Fellowship Hall. Programs will begin at 6:15pm in the Sanctuary. RSVP in the YCCOM or to Lina so that we have enough handouts and food.

On Sunday, March 24, the church family will gather for a single worship service at 10:00am in the Sanctuary. Following the conclusion of the service, we’ll enjoy a brief break for refreshments and fellowship, and then we’ll reconvene in the sanctuary for a Congregational Meeting. This will be our opportunity to hear more about the results of the General Conference and the implications for our church. In order to guarantee that our gathering answers as many questions and addresses as many concerns as possible, we are inviting the members of the church family to share their input with Pastor David in advance. (Please go to https://fumc.the3x5club.com/ to read more about the General Conference and our Congregational Meeting, and to complete a brief survey.)
