MMagazine launch issue is now out there making
waves with the kasi soccer lovers, to the extent that requests for more profiles are already pouring in from clubs, coaches and players. Be reminded that this magazine was created specifically for KASI soccer, and its a medium by which the contributors of our beautiful game be featured at all times since they are kasi soccer and without them kasi football would die.
The launch issue of this magazine introduced the columnists who will cover different subjects; On the ball with Bro Ish specialises on the Team’s preparation and planning, while Lifestyle Coaching focuses on those aspects affecting the youth in dealing with low self-esteem to Peer pressure. The issue already contains the 1st parts of the series that will continue through the year in every issue released.
The Easter period is one of the busiest time in as far as kasi football is concerned, because it is the time for Kasi Tournaments where various teams take part with the hope of making quick money. Various Kasis in Soweto have annual tournaments for this period, and one such event is the Ndofaya Easter Tournament held at Meadowlands and sponsored by Moso Consulting Services. This tournament attracts teams from around Johannesburg, due to its popularity and it has become the most sought after event in Meadowlands. 2014 event was bigger and better attracting entries from Orlando, Diepkloof, and Cosmo City and was a roaring success and you will read more about it inside.
Thanks

This is a typical Kasi Soccer magazine designed to focus on kasi soccer events that are not reported on in the mainstream media. It also unearthes raw soccer talent and exposes the athlete to another soccer level. This is the magazine that the soccer loving community can identify with and contribute to its success by identifying these talented youngsters and give them exposure.
Well done Thabeng Management and your associates.

WOMEN My name is Nqobile Nxumalo
My love for soccer is not easily expressed in
words, it comes in flashbacks. Flashbacks of
ecstasy or displeasure felt from the game. It
comes in flashback of appreciaon when I
watch talent looking effortless. Flashbacks
of the unity of fans at stadiums, singing and
dancing in euphoria for their respecve
teams.
“The nicknames are what converted me.”Growing up I was never a soccer fanac, I
was into swimming or athlecs, that's
where I excelled and that's all that
concerned me. My first fond memories of
soccer are with my father and his “the
dancing chicken” ancs when his team;
which eventually became my team Orlando
Pirates did well. The joy and excitement he
felt was contagious to a naïve me.
I am a lover of the English language and I
have deep passion for words so you can
imagine what it would ignite when my
father would tell stories about soccer
players, their history and nicknames, yes
the nicknames is what converted me into a
soccer enthusiast, nicknames like
Connental (Gi Leremi) Slow Poison
(Lesley Manyathela) Problem Child (Jabu
Pule) and Midnight Express (Helman
Makhalele) would ignite a love affair with
the sport that I became fixated.
“I was keen to work with the community”.Being one that has always worked with the
community, I am interested in seeing its
development and progression. I was keen to
work with the community on a project that
would keep them acve. I inially I wanted
to start a soccer team with the adults that I
see around my neighbourhood drinking
their lives away on weekends, I wanted to
give them something to look forward to at
the end of the week, something to bring
back that passion and excitement that they
had as youth. It was my vision to decrease
their me on the bole and increase their
me on the field not only for fun but for
their well-being as well. That proved
difficult and I eventually had to let go of the
idea.
“How magnificent they are on the field”A couple of years down the line my cousin
visited me with his friends, as we were
burning the meat on the braai stand and
talking all things soccer, his friends started
boasng about how magnificent they are
on the field, I honestly did not believe
them. So we wagered that I come see them
play during the December tournaments that
take place, needless say that is exactly what
I did, I found myself spending my enre
holiday packing a cooler bag every single
day and driving to areas such as, Nike
centre, Meadowlands, Vosloorus, Thembisa
etc just watching these young man play
beauful football and geng excited at just
hearing crowds going crazy over their flair
and style.
“Thus the idea of starng a team was born”My passion and love was ignited all over
again and I knew that I wanted to be a part
of this sport somehow. Thus the idea of
starng a team was born. My passion and
vision that I imparted on these young man
that I was spending my holiday with is what
won them over to come play for a team I
would put together.
“It was important for me to assist the boys”.Soweto Diamonds was born through the
help of my best friend, soccer lover
neighbour and this young man who just
wanted to play soccer. It was important for
me to assist the boys in doing what they
love and the name Soweto Diamonds was
just fing, it represents the raw, invaluable
talent that Soweto possesses.
This definitely started out as hobby but
Soweto Diamonds has not only turned into
a soccer team, it has turned into a
comradeship that is concerned about the
team's individual development, guidance
and mentorship both in the game and their
personal lives.

This column is dedicated to Women who have committed their contribution to the development of Soccer, and to tell own stories.
The column on the referees chart is about informing and educating the Soccer loving communities about the rules of the Game, and erase the perception of bias from match officials. the idea is to deal with different aspects of the FIFA Referee's chart every month also to give the readers a chance to send questions about various matters.
CHART LAW 2: THE BALL
Qualities and measurementsThe ball is:
Spherical Made of leather or other suitable
material Of a circumference of not more
than 70 cm (28 ins) and not less than 68 cm (27 ins)
Of a pressure equal to 0.6 - 1.1 atmosphere (600 - 1,100 g/cm2) at sea level (8.5 lbs/sq in - 15.6 lbs/sq in)
Replacement of a defective ball
If the ball bursts or becomes defective during the course of a match:
The match is stopped The match is restarted by
dropping the replacement ball at the place where the original ball became defective, unless play was stopped inside the goal area, in which case the referee drops the replacement ball on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the point nearest to where the original ball was located when play was stopped
If the ball bursts or becomes defective during a penalty kick or during kicks from the penalty mark as it moves forward and before it touches any player or the crossbar or goalposts:
the penalty kick is retaken
If the ball bursts or becomes defective whilst not in play at a kick-off, goal kick, corner kick, free kick, penalty kick or throw-in:
the match is restarted accordingly
The ball may not be changed during the match without the authority of the referee.
Decisions of the International F.A. Board
Decision 1
In addition to the requirements of Law 2, acceptance of a ball for use in matches played in an official competition organised under the auspices of FIFA or the confederations is conditional upon the ball bearing one of the following:
the official “FIFA APPROVED” logo
the official “FIFA INSPECTED” logo
the “INTERNATIONAL MATCHBALL STANDARD” logo
Such a logo on a ball indicates that it has been tested officially and found to be in compliance with specific technical requirements, different for each logo and additional to the minimum specifications stipulated in Law 2. The list of the additional requirements specific to each of the respective logos must be approved by the International F.A. Board. The institutes conducting the tests are subject to the approval of FIFA.
Member association competitions may also require the use of balls bearing any one of these three logos.
Decision 2
In matches played in an official competition organised under the auspices of FIFA, the confederations or the member associations, no form of commercial advertising on the ball is permitted, except for the emblem of the competition, the competition organiser and the authorised trademark of the manufacturer. The competition regulations may restrict the size and number of such markings.

My name is Fezile Bomoyi, and was born on the 18 October 1993 in zone 6 Pimville Soweto. I am currently in Grade 12 at Kliptown High School and also currently a player for Pimville Premium as the local team of Pimville and I am popularly known as "Jezebe l " in foo tba l l circles.
I started playing when I was 11 years, and did not actually like it, and was encouraged by my coach Pule from Bester for a team called Mili pop. and actually played well with me scoring and this was f o r t h e s a m e t e a m c u r r e n t l y k n o w n a s Pimville Premium.
School Soccer
Kliptown High School is not currently participant in the school leagues, even though they sometimes take part and I am not sure if we will take part when the league starts.
Future in Soccer
I would like to go play for Ajax Cape Town because of the structures there that encourage development of players, or even go to Wi ts because o f the schooling factor as I would l ike to pursue further studies whi le playing football also. this is in line with what my Mother's wish that I place education above everything else, hence strict condition that I
attend all classes at school even on Saturdays.
Sibongile Bomoyi(Mother)
I don't actually like the name Jezebel because it has bad connotations in the Bible, and luckily he is a boy and it is not bad unlike if he was a Girl. I also go watch him play at Nike a the name and still hear name Jezebel and come back home, we all support him here at home including his granny and other members of the family. the challenge I am facing now, is that I have not yet bought him soccer boots that he needs so much.

LIFE
Values and rules
Values are labels of words we use to define what is important to us and act as a guideline on how we want our lives to be in the outside world.
Giving rules to your values assists in knowing exactly what they mean to you and you are clearly able to define their meaning to you and to another person.
For example, I value being on time. The rules are: be at the expected venue 30 minutes before the set appointment.
Words that constitute values mean different things to different people, by clearly stating the value you give direction to people in dealing with you, as they will not agree with you based on their own interpretation and understanding of the value but as per rules set out by you.
If you do not follow your rules you will find it difficult for people to believe them and cooperate with you.
List your values
Living in variance with our own values can cause great stress and
leads us into finding fault with other people. The values you hold are the ones you created for yourself? Or the ones that were created for you (unaware or aware)?
Exercise Make a 5 column table, the first one being Values and the other four being Time/Money/Effort/People.
Values Time Money Effort People Write twenty things which are important to you, starting from the most important to the least important under the Value column. Next to each value make a tick on each column where you believe the value you hold requires any of the other four.
If any of the values you wrote have Time, Money, Effort and People on all the columns ticked then it is not your value (its someone else's value), cross it out. If 3 out of the 4 are ticked it’s also not your value, cross it out. If 2 or 1 of the 4 different factors are ticked then you need to investigate it and decide what weight it carries and how much of the priority is it and what would it contribute and these are mostly values you created for yourself and are of the utmost importance to you.
What lies ahead....?
The road to self-discovery begins with knowing what is important to YOU and once you know that it will map out the route you will need to take. You will learn to understand and forgive yourself in the process but mostly fall in love with YOU and the journey filled with opportunities ahead of you.
Until the next issue stay blessed and know that you are loved.

Icons are those members of our society who have gone over the call of duty, to dedicate their lives to the Beautiful Game at developmental Level. This Feature will give them a stage to tell stories of their journey in Football.
ICONSMokgokong ‘Toto’ Mokgethi is the Executive Chairman and founder of the leading African owned financial services company, Moso Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd. Mokgokong was born in Mzimhlophe and moved to Zone 9 Meadowlands at the age of 4 when his parents got allocated their house. He is the first in the family of four. He grew up entrepreneurial as he opened his vendor business at the age of 10 selling everything from fruits, nuts, clothing, etc.
PLOUGHING BACK (SPONSORS)
Giant Leap of Faith
Driven by the desire to achieve great things and the passion to succeed regardless of one’s background, he then took a giant leap of Faith start Moso Consulting Services in 1998 as a wholly African owned company competing with the best in the Financial Services industry. He at the time decided to focus in the Healthcare management by serving as an intermediary to various open Medical Schemes in the country. He opened the first office at the Sunshine Shopping Centre occupying a 16m² floor working space with 4
employees and currently Moso Consulting Services occupies about 100m working space. He together with Executive team managed to grow the business into the most successful 100% African owned financial services company second to none over the past 15 years. We are now licensed beyond healthcare and employing about 100 employees from 4 in 1998.
Corporate Social Investment
The time came when the company had to play its role in
the social environmental needs of the community. We then had to prioritise areas that we considered dire at least in our own view. We identified education, sport and the Welfare as our priorities. This led to Moso Consulting Services ensuring that every year we take at least one needy child from the townships to University until they graduate. We are proud that we have produced 2 graduates and currently have 2 students in University.

Education
Moso Consulting Services has also renovated Kelekitso High School in the belief that a healthy environment leads to fresh thinking which result to great mindedness. We hope that creating a beautiful landscape, new writing boards and painting of the school will have positive impact on how the pupils of Kelekitso begin to see education and the future.
Welfare
Moso Consulting Services has also adopted Othandweni Childrens Home in Soweto and our sponsorship is to ensure that on a quarterly basis, we supply the home with groceries needed for nutrition and hygiene. This is to ensure that the Care Mothers and children focus on development rather than worry about meals and bath soap. In this regard credit must go to Mrs. Mokgethi for her passion in ensuring that these children become better individuals in the future. As I conclude this interview, I would like to thank our clients for first believing
in us and secondly for trusting that African business can have positive impact in their employee’s financial needs and wellness. To other corporate captains, I urge you to give African business opportunities to service your organizations rather than believing in the ‘white run’ businesses only. The biggest client to the corporate South Africa is the African community and it is inconceivable that their service providers should be African owned entities.
Moso Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd is an example of excellence despite the background and negative perceptions of the Corporate South Africa.
Soccer Sponsorship
Secondly we establish two annual Soccer tournaments that we fully fund in terms of sponsorships and prizes for successful teams. The tournaments take place in Meadowlands and the Vaal / Sedibeng. In Meadowlands there is Ndofaya Easter Soccer Tournament
and in the Vaal, Sedibeng December Soccer Tournament. I believe that our contribution in the soccer development is making a difference as a number of players in both regions are now linked to professional teams. What is even more exciting for us is the time that the youth in both regions put into preparing for these tournaments and this definitely removes them from the being engaged in evil deeds that will put them in Prison. We have adopted a team in the Vaal – (Vaal Milano) that we sponsor 100%. The team consists of male and female teams of all ages.

ON THE BALL
Hi Soccer lovers, I would like to greet all the readers of Mzansi Soccer Style and to remind the coaches and soccer lovers of Mzansi Soccer, that we are helping players to develop and work on their skills to achieve good results as a team. We now begin with our series of topics,
HOW TO PREPARE A TEAM TO PRODUCE GOOD RESULTS
Individual attack and defence’s tactics, how to apply T.I.C(Technique, Insight and Communication)
Tactical Play
Firstly we need to understand that attack is the best form of defence, we look at defending as a team and how to apply attacking tactics at the same time. Let’s also remember that talent, skill and fitness are all important, but for a soccer team to fulfil its potential it must it must be more that a collection of individual players. In short the whole team must more than the same of its parts, cooperation, organisation and discipline are all required and it is the job of the coach to foster these qualities in the players.
Defending as a Team
Gone are the days when centre forwards and wingers could stand on the halfway line with their hand on the hips when they lost possession of the ball. In the modern game every player has a defensive duty, and the team must work as a unit to win back the ball.
Coaches should take time before every game to make it clear to the players, which areas of the opposition they are responsible for in any given situation.
Whatever their in the field, players need to understand what the coaches
expects of them and should not be pigeon holed but rather be allowed to played in different positions before a final decision is made on which is their strongest for deployment.it is very important to involve all the players during training sessions.
Tackling
It is advisable to spend a great deal of time practising block tackling and sliding tackles for two following reasons, firstly there is significant risk of players getting injured and secondly players should be encouraged to close down and force the opposition into committing errors rather than dive into tackles . . . . . .
Theory
When faced with an attacking team, your team must know exactly what is expected of them and the aim being to play compact by halving the field and concentrating all the defensive efforts accordingly for the system to work. Every player must have a job to do.
Closing Down
The defender nearest to the ball should apply direct pressure to the player with the ball in an effort to force
an error; the defender should stand on the ball of his feet side to the opponent and with eyes on the ball. The aim is to direct the attacking player towards fellow defenders, who may be able to win the ball and this is done by standing outside the line of the attacker’s run.
First Cover
The second- mates player moves on the cover to act as an insurance policy in case the attacker gets past the first defender to cover, to cover the defender should take up a position on an imaginary line between the ball and the centre of the goal.
Remaining Cover
Any remaining defenders should shuffle across to occupy the half of the pitch that is currently under attack.
NB: All tactics highlighted above, coaches should know how to apply them to the benefit of getting results at the end of the game.

The Prezza(club owner) is the person who owns the team and usually funds all activities from own pocket, these are the people who keep Kasi Soccer going and contribute greatly to the development of the Game in the Townships and their dedication knows no limits and will stop at nothing because of their love for the game.
This column will be dedicated to these unsung heroes of Mzansi Soccer, who never get to be given a platform in the main stream media. The Prezza will be telling their own stories with regard to their life in Football, and the challenges they face daily.

“Mike played as a no nonsense defender”
As a player in the under 17 division, he was given the role of training and coaching the under 14’s after their coach left the club. Mike’s coaching career started from there with the guidance of the chairman. The chairman also took him to some basic coaching lessons at senior team at Wits.Mike played as a no nonsense defender, playing mainly as a right back and central defender as well. Whilst all this was happening, Mike was doing
very well at school with his studies. When he was 21, he left Johannesburg to further his tertiary education at the Technikon Mangosuthu and Technikon Natal in Durban, where he also continued playing football. He then proceeded and started his working career in Cape Town working at National Brands Ltd as a Trainee Accountant, a position from which he grew until he served the company as an Assistance Financial Accountant in the Finance department and then later was transferred to be an
Assistant Management Accountant in the Marketing department. It is from there that he joined the world of marketing at BP SA as Sales Representative, where he thrived resulting in his promotion to Accounts Manager in their Commercial department. He later joined the Retail department as a Retail Business Manager. His channel marketing management experience led to him being asked to join Peugeot Motor SA as Area Sales Manager from whence he joined Empower
FLEET Holdings as the Vice President in Charge of the Motor Dealer network.
He left Empower fleet to run his own business called Life Jacket Communications where he offered MCing, Motivational Speaking, Facilitation services, etc. He then joined Bonitas Marketing (Pty) Ltd where he was employed as General Manager: Inland Sales and was also Acting General Manager: Marketing.

MICHAEL MACAMOMIKE STARS FCHe started playing football at an early age of 7, where he played for the Orlando Pirates FC juniors called Young Bucs in Mofolo. At the age of 10, he joined Wits University FC (the Soweto feeder branch) based in Orlando East under the leadership of the late Mr Ernest Gumbi, the then chairman of the club. This is where it actually started for Mike, around the age of 13, whilst playing in the under 14 division, he was already doubling up as an “assistant” to the chairman. Mr Gumbi used to drag Mike to his meetings at Wits where he met the likes of Mr Raymond Hack and Professor Ronnie Slosh. The chairman and Professor Slosch taught Mike a lot about football administration and leadership in general. Mike was giving the role of secretary/PRO of the team, he took minutes at club meetings, attended the association/league meetings with the chairman and provided feedback to the club, he was part of almost all the decisions that the chairman made.
