Water
The district comes under Cauvery basin. It is drained mainly by rivers Cauvery, Kabini, Laxmana thirtha, Harangi and their tributaries.
Groundwater availability in the region is moderate. Current public investments focus on expanding irrigation network and watershed management.
Power Transmission in the district is being done
byChamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company Limited (CESCOM).
In order to deal with the increasing population and industrialization in the area, major public investments in power generation and transmission is being introduced.
In the rural level, consistent effort to enhance biogas based projects are also being made.

Tourism Mysore Palace : The star attraction of the city is always the Ambavilas Palace
very popularly called the Mysore Palace , located in the heart of Mysore city. Arguably this is the most recognizable palaces in India, and a monument that is most visited, outnumbering even the Taj Mahal in Agra.
Mysore Zoo: This century old zoo is the next sought after attraction in Mysuru, after the palace. Over 3 million tourists visit this zoo an year. There is also a battery operated buggy serving that takes to the main sites inside the zoo. This is one of the best kept zoos in the country.
Chamundi Hill : This hill overlooks the Mysore City and occupy almost a quarter of the city's landscape. The most important is the hilltop shrine of the goddess Chamundeshwari. Midway up the hill is the iconic Nandi (Bull) image. The best kept secret of Chamundi hill tourist trail is the massive temple tank called Devikere.Your Mysore tour is not conclusive unless you share a selfie taken with the brightly painted Mahishasura, after whom the city is named.
St. Philomena's Church :With 175 feet (53 meter) tall twin spire, the St. Philomena's Church is one of the tallest in the country. The church was designed similar to the much taller (516 feet) Cologne Cathedral in Germany. The relic of Saint Philomena is preserved in a catacomb (underground) below the main altar, accessible through a narrow passage.
Brindavan Gardens: Located at the base of the Krishnaraja Sagara Dam (KRS), Brindavan Gardens is a popular daytrip location from Mysore city.
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary :This bird sanctuary stands between KRS and Srirangapatna along the course of Kaveri River. Visit Ranganathittu during the season. You can spot a huge number of migratory birds that nests in this rocky island.
Amusement Parks like GRS Fantacy Park, Planet X, famous Art & Architecture like Jagan Mohan Palace, Somanathapura & Talakad are the ancient and historical tourist places are the other attractions in the district.
