MYBUDDY Device

The rectangular orange button on the right hand side of the device is the universal button which can be used to switch on MYBUDDY.

Long press the button to turn on the device.

A green light will begin to blink when the device is switching on.

HOW TO INSERT A SIM IN MYBUDDY? You will find a SIM slot at the

back of the MYBUDDY device. The device supports only Nano-SIM cards with Edge (2G) data. Before inserting a SIM into the device please ensure that the SIM has an active 2G Data and SMS Plan.

The SIM should be inserted only when the device is switched OFF. Short press the SOS button on the device. If you see the light blinking, wait till the battery is drained and then insert the SIM.

Based on the type of the carrier, it might take around 20-30 minutes to show the location in the MYBUDDY Application.

HOW TO CHARGE MYBUDDY? Attach the magnetic charger to the

device. A yellow light will begin to blink while the device is being charged.

The device needs to be charged for 1.5 hours.

A continuous Green Light is seen when the device is fully charged.

A red light will be seen when the device’s battery is low.

Installing the Mobile Application

A total of 4 Mobile nos can be paired with one MYBUDDY Device.

The first registration for each MYBUDDY Device is the Primary Parent, who also gets 2 additional features:

1. To add / delete secondary contacts

2. To Switch off MYBUDDY Device

Enter the 5 digit OTP received via SMS / IVR Call

Enter 1. Parent Name, Parent Mobile No, Email ID and set a 4 digit PIN

CODE. Agree on Terms and conditions

Enter IMEI / Scan the Bard code of the MYBUDDY Device

Locate To Update real-

time Location –An SMS is sent from the Parent’s Mobile to fetch the real-time location of the MYBUDDY Device.

The Device Refreshes location automatically without any SMS every 3 Minutes (Default settings).

The Device refresh rate can be changed in the settings.

Adding Safe Zone

A total of 6 Safe Zones can be added for each MYBUDDY device.

Minimum Radius of safe zone(s) is 100 Metres and Maximum - 500

Safe Zone(s) notifications are dependent on the Network and GPS Accuracy.

Increased frequency update may lead to delayed Safe Zone(s) notifications.

Click on the Slider to Increase or Decrease the Safe Zone Radius.

Enter the name of the Safe Zone and Click ‘Save’

Device Switch Off

The device can be switched off only by the primary parent using the MYBUDDY application.

While switching off a Red LED blinks for 3 times and the device vibrates once.

The Switch Off function works using an SMS sent to the MYBUDDY Device from the Primary Parent’s mobile number.

A Notification is sent to the Parent Application

The Mobile Application will display a Grey Bar “MYBUDDY Switched off”

SOS

An SOS cannot be raised twice. When the MYBUDDY is in the SOS MODE, another SOS cannot be raised until the first SOS is dismissed.

An SOS cannot be raised when the MYBUDDY Device is in the Safe Zone.

The functionality of an SOS is dependent on the Network coverage.

Amber alert is sent to all the parents with TRACK and DISMISS options

Click DISMISS SOS Option in Dashboard to Disable the SOS.

All Registered Contacts have to follow the registration process.

For security reasons only the Primary Parent will get the option to Switch Off the MYBUDDY Device.

Battery Life of MYBUDDY

• GPS usage (Outdoor Conditions) significantly increases battery consumption.

• Fully charged batteries kept idle, gradually lose charge, please charge the device prior to use.

• Use only the proprietary charger to charge the device.

• Higher location frequency will increase the device’s battery life, however will delay the notifications of ‘In’ and ‘Out’ of Safe Zones.

• The Li-Ion battery also tends to be in reduced capacity with continued usage, hence it is recommended to switch off the device when not in use.

• A Li-Ion battery may be damaged by extensive overcharging, hence do not keep the battery on continuous charge.

FAQ SIM Card and Network

1 Which SIM Card needs to be procured for MYBUDDY.

MYBUDDY supports all mobile operators having 2G Service. Kindly note RELIANCE JIO AND OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS HAVE ONLY 3G/4G/CDMA Coverage, which are not supported.

2 How much Data recharge is required for the MYBUDDY Device.

It is recommended to have a 200 MB Data Plan per month for the MYBUDDY Device. The MYBUDDY device also uses SMS for raising SOS and hence it is recommended to have sufficient balance in the SIM card inserted in the device.

3 Which Type of SIM Card is supported by the MYBUDDY Device

MYBUDDY supports Nano SIM Card type.

4 How to Check that the SIM Card in working Insert the Activated SIM card in a Mobile and check whether you are able to receive call, messages and whether the phone in able to connect to the internet.

5 Will EuroKids provide me SIM card? As per TRAI regulations, getting any SIM Card needs valid KYC documents. The SIM card needs to be procured by the parents.

6 I am not able to register my device. Whom do I contact?

Please reach out to the MYBUDDY support no.

7 Does the device work only outdoors ? No, the device locations works both Indoor and Outdoors. The accuracy of indoor locations depends on Wifi and GSM Signals.

6. IS MYBUDDY Battery safe? MYBUDDY battery has been safety certified.

7. How does MYBUDDY Work? MYBUDDY work on GPS, GSM and Wifi Location Technology and transmits the location to the parent’s mobile application using a 2G Network.

8 Is MYBUDDY water Proof? MYBUDDY is only splash resistant. It is recommended to be used in water-proof bags during the rains.

9 How strong is the MYBUDDY Device? MYBUDDY is tested for 1 Metre drop on a hard surface.

10 How is the MUBUDDY Device’s battery life ? Battery life depends on the network coverage and refresh cycle. Raising an SOS also reduces the battery life. It is recommended to charge the device prior to use.

11 My device is broken. Where do I get it repaired?

Kindly provide the device to your school. Broken, damaged by moisture, etc., are not covered under the Warranty.

12 Can MYBUDDY device be used for Calling ? MYBUDDY Device doesn’t support Voice Calling

13. Does MYBUDDY Device make any noise ? MYBUDDY Device is small, inconspicuous and does not make any noise at all. It is completely safe and school ready.

14. Can MYBUDDY Be tracked when Switched off ? No. Similar to a cell phone, when it is turned off it cannot send or receive communications. However, you will get notification with last known location when the tracker is turned off.

15. What is the accuracy of MYBUDDY ? MYBUDDY accuracy is accurate approx +/- 30 meters. In an open sky environment, users can see accuracy within +/- 10 meters. In absence of WIFI and GPS the accuracy is + / - 10 Metres

16 What is the difference between MYBUDDY and Smartphone ?

MYBUDDY is uniquely designed with a one button SOS feature that is pre-programed with designated phone numbers, making it easy for the child to connect with their caregiver immediately. MYBUDDY’s primary purpose is to monitor Child’s position, accurately and reliably.

17 How ling does the SOS Button needs to be pressed

The SOS Button needs to be pressed for 3-4 Seconds, a Vibration is felt once the SOS is raised.

No. You can charge it anytime you’d like. We recommend planning charging of MYBUDDY to ensure adequate battery life before usage by the child. Please note that charging it too often can deteriorate the battery.

4. Where do I download the MYBUDDY Mobile Application?

The MYBUDDY Mobile Application can be downloaded from GOOGLE PLAY and APPLE STORE.

5. Do I need to pay separately for the mobile application and tracking?

Mobile application can be downloaded free of cost from the respective app stores. The location subscription is free for the first year.

6. How does SOS work? In SOS, the device transmits the distress signal to the registered contacts. The functionality of an SOS is dependent on network coverage.

7. Will the SOS work in EuroKids centres. All EuroKids centers are tagged as Safezones and you will receive notifications of movement ‘In’ and ‘Out’ of EuroKids centres.

8. How can see the past location of the device ? The device Timelines features allows to view past locations of Last 7 Days

9. What Happens if MYBUDDY is switched off or out of coverage area

The Amber and SOS Alert will not be provided to the Parent as the functionality of an SOS is dependent on network coverage. If the product enters an area without GSM (or cell phone) coverage, the GPS feature will not be able to report its current location to server until it re-enters an area with network coverage.

11. Can anyone Track MYBUDDY paired to My mobile

No, MYBUDDY data are hosted on secure clould platform, making it almost impossible for any unauthorized access. An user's account is protected by username/password. Only the persons you have shared the credentials with will be able to track.

12. Is the Accuracy of MYBUDDY Same everywhere ?

No, In suburban areas such as neighbourhoods, houses, schools, parks, and flatter regions MYBUDDY can receive a GPS signal better than areas with Tall buildings which block the line of sight from the product to the satellite.

13. Can I create unlimited safezones? No, Only a total of 6 Safezones can be saved for Each MYBUDDY Device. All EuroKidsschool locations are also tagged as Safezones.

14. How Many devices can I pair with one Mobile No.

A total of 3 MYBUDDY Device can be saved to one contact

15. What is the radius of the Safe-Zones ? The Safezone(s) can be created with a minimum radius of 100 Metres.

16. Can MYBUDDY application be used on Tablets ?

Certain features of MYBUDDY such as Update location and device switch off are SMS based features and may not work properly in an Tablet
