our objectives for teens using my3P

• Develop a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement

• Foster an entrepreneurial spirit, incorporating social enterprise and triple bottom line thinking where possible

• Develop life skills such as: goal setting, team work, and leadership skills


top 3 reasons teens participate

• They earn points for doing specific actions we want to encourage. They then redeem points for stuff they want

• They can make real money• The interactive nature of the site fulfills basic

human needs (direct feedback) which are not sufficiently addressed at school


innovation & idea management

• develop creative problem solving skills as they suggest ideas on specific topics

• develop peer-to-peer mentoring skills as they give feedback on the ideas of others

• learn the power of continuous improvement as average ideas turn good and then great by modifying the ideas according to feedback receive from other users


The ideaFunL was used by teens to develop …

… ideas for sponsors (HP, BP, and University of Auckland)

entrepreneurial mindset

• For cash hungry teens, businesses templates got them up and running fast!

• Built-in simple CRM and accounting modules helped them track their business profitability

• Visibility of all the other teens running businesses so they knew…

Teens participate in social enterprise just by earning points

• For every 10 points a teen earns…– Their school earns 1 point– Their favourite charity earns 1 point– Schools and charities can use these points to get

items they might otherwise pay cash for. Ie: printers, web development, software…


Projects section develops recruiting, team work, &

leadership skills• Our projects section features solo projects,

group projects, and class projects. • Leaders are developed as one teen is

responsible for building the team and bringing the project to completion.

the points account shows teens how they earned each point and

who the sponsor was


Users have a ‘shopping cart’ to redeem points on cool stuff
