#1: Six Flags Jazzland- New Orleans, LA• This Six Flags is currently owned by the city of New Orleans. The

park is located off of Interstate 10. It used to be owned by the Six Flags corporation, but after it was horribly damaged by Hurricane Katrina, the park was contracted over to the city of New Orleans for the next seventy-five years. The park is severely damaged, with only one current ride majorly unharmed (Batman). 80% of all the park buildings are ruined. This is. however., a great site for urban exploration.

• I would like to visit here because I have seen this park while driving to New Orleans many times. It has piqued my curiosity every time, and I am an adrenaline junky. I have always loved the thrill of seeing & visiting old amusement parks, which is why I have quite a few on my list.

#2: Underwater City- Shicheng, China• Shi Cheng is an underwater city. It is 1,300 years old, and

rests 85-131 ft. under the surface of the lake of Qiandao. To make way for the Xin’an river dam, the valley Shi Cheng rests in was flooded. The city hat was once magnificent is now sunk underwater. It has been preserved naturally by the lake, and has amazing architecture.

• I would like to see this sight because I love to scuba dive, and just think of all the mysteries down below waiting to be discovered. Its amazing.

#3:Dadipark- Dadizel, Belgium• Dadipark opened in 1950 under instruction of Gaston Deweer, the local

pastor. Right away it was a main tourist attraction. The park had slides, small water rides, tilt a wheels, etc. The park closed more than ten years ago. Why, you ask? Well, here is where it gets interesting. It shut down after a boy had is ARM ripped off on the Nautic Jet water ride. After that, visitors were extremely concerned with the safety of the park, and stopped coming. The park closed for renovations in 2004, and has not reopened since.

• I would like to go here because that is just really interesting. I would like to actually see the ride that ripped off that young boy’s arm. Plus, who doesn’t love an abandoned fun park?

#4: Island of the Dolls-Xochimilico, Mexico• The island of the dolls is an island in Mexico. It got its name by half-

decapitated, eyeless, bloody dolls hanging from all the trees. A long time ago, a little girl drowned there. ( before it was doll-ified) A man became obsessed with her death, and “murdered” all these dolls and hung them up. Then, a few years later, he died in the exact same spot in the exact same way as the little girl who died there. No one knows if it was suicide or what, but it sure is freaky.

• I love freaky things like this. I want to go because I’m pretty sure that there is literally nothing like this again in the entire world.

#5: Nara Dreamland- Japan• Nara Dreamland was a knockoff of California’s

Disneyland and Coney Island. Built in 1961, it costs millions of dollars to build. It features a castle just like the one at Disneyland, a main street, and hundreds of attractions. It closed in August 2006, due to low visitor numbers. However, it now is a great abandoned-looking subject for photographers.

• I would like to go here because I actually really enjoy taking pictures. Also, it would just be a really fun & cool place to explore.
