MY STORY
FACED WITH
• As a child I was confused because my mom acted strangely• After my mom was taken to the hospital a few
weeks later she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder• Just last year my brother was diagnosed
IMPACT
Good
• Became closer to family• Appreciate everything
more• Learned how to avoid
it
Bad
• Worry of having it or passing it to children• Stress• Scared us
WHAT WE DID
• We were there for her every step of the way• Were strong in knowing she’d return• I was amazed watching my dad stay strong
through the whole thing
TODAY
• Thankful to have her and each other• Know signs and
causes• Everything is back
to normal and we even joke about her being “crazy”
