First of all, thanks for all the people who supported me in English class. I really need to thank my English teacher -
Mr. Bruce who always give me some cool words and ideas helping me while I’m running out of ideas. I won’t be able
to finish my journey without my English teacher. I also have to give a massive thank you to my lovely parents and
classmates who always stand by my side helping me. Also a special thanks to a boy band I love called One Direction and an awesome writer Carlos Ruiz Zafon, they inspired a lot to
write this journey. At the last, a really massive thanks for you, the one who's reading this. Thank you all the people
above and hope you enjoy reading my poetry journey.

THE TIGERTIGER, tiger, burning brightIn the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eyeCould frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skiesBurnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder and what artCould twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain? In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread graspDare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?Did He who made the lamb make thee?
Tiger, tiger, burning brightIn the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eyeDare frame thy fearful symmetry?

THE TIGER
After reading the poem <the tiger>, I can’t understand most of the words that the author use and choose. After the teacher explain what the poem means, I found out that this author is so amazing, there’re lots of rhymes and the end matches the start. Those words are so powerful, that makes people could easy picture the tiger just by reading this poem.

Stopping By Woods on Snowy Evening ~by Robert Frost 1923
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queerTo stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lakeThe darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shakeTo ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweepOf easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,And miles to go before I sleep.

How to I think about the poem~ Stopping By Woods on Snowy Evening
I think it’s a person walked for a long time, and is
stopping by some woods on a snowy winter day.
The person might fall in love of the silence of the
wood.Thinking of staying longer. Th person must
love the wood very much because the person
premised to keep it. Thinking of resting, the
person still has to travel a long distance.

Picture Description
I chose this picture first of all because it’s snowy. A thing that I like in this picture is the wood just makes me feel comfortable and just like the person in the poem’s feeling about the wood. Silence, lovely, dark and deep. In the poem, the author mentioned a frozen lake, in this picture there’s also a river under the bridge. In this picture it’s pretty dark as the author said “the darkest evening of the year” but it’s all fill with snow so it may look lighter than it should be. When I first saw this picture just like the person in the poem feel in love with this wood.

DogUnder a maple treeThe dog lies down,
Lolls his limpTongue, yawns,
Rests his long chinCarefully between
Front paws,Looks up, alert;
Chops, with heavyJaws, at a slow fly,
Blinks, rollsOn his side,
Sighs, closesHis eyes: sleeps
All afternoonIn his loose skin.

Picture Description
I chose this picture first of all because this dog just looks lazy and sleepy. And its action just like how the poem describe it. The thing that I like the most in this picture is it’s loos skin and its lazy face.

My poem- The superman
14
Superman in the sky
Arms ,straight
Flying there up high
His name was Louis
He gave me a carrot cookie
Orange, yummy
He gave me a look
Winks, smiles
And then he bumped into a tree
In this sunny afternoon
In his superman suitFriday, May 4, 2012
Love that novelI love that novel,
like an angel loves to smile
I said I love that novel
like angel loves to smile
Love to open it in the midnight
love to whisper to it
“Let’s read, awhile!”

What impact did it have on you whilst?
18
I really like this book because it change the feeling that I felt about poetry. And when I read this book I felt like going to the pass, because this book is written in a way like a little kid, it’s not hard to understand and it just make me sad when I heard about his dog, it’s easy to read and also really deep to my heart.
When did it begin to get your attention?
It started to get my attention when I read his first poem. It’s so short and so it get my attention. If it a long long and hard poem it’ll probably lose my interest. And it’s easy to understand, and it’s all different from the poems that I read before.

How did you feel about the main character?I really like his poems, it’s short and clear but deep. Short poems usually get my attentions. I feel sad about his dog because I also have a dog.
How effective was the layout of the book?I think it’s a really fun way to put poems like that. Mostly the poems that I read in books their layout were all in a boring way and same way. It’s very attractive.
Was it good idea to read sections of the book after being exposed to the poems?
Yes, I think it’s a good idea because he said he doesn’t understand those poems that we just read in class, and I totally agree.
How did that strategy help you in getting interested in the book?
It helps me to understand what the book is talking about. And it’s interesting to hear the opinion that the others think about the poem.

Limerick

There was a boy sitting in the bar
Planning one day to be a rock star
He ordered pink milk
And then he started to bilk
Running on the road and hit by a car
Once upon the time there was a bullfrog
Trying to jump into the scary fog
It wanted to be free
It met the dog of chloe
Then it’s been swallowed by the bad dog
Poor Sophie sat quietly blinking
These poems have got me to thinking
I can’t find a word
That isn’t absurd
My tries at poems are stinking ~ By Mr. Bruce
