My Place Photography has been developed to support school aged young people to gain a better knowledge of buildings, spaces and places in your local area. It features and competition and learning project; all housed in one website with learning resources, case studies and galleries of images created by young people.

Free downloadable learning guides and resources offer activity ideas for teachers and youth leaders to use with Primary and Secondary pupils in the classroom and outdoors.

This short film was created for the 2014 exhibition and provides a an example of a My Place project in a school.

It includes information from primary teacher Susan Hume and footage of school based workshop activities.

There is also a longer version available on the website. It is 10 minutes long.

What next?Use the resources available on the My Place website to support young people to explore their local area. Perhaps use the school building as a starting point or choose one local landmark building.

Create some documentation of your workshop in progress including photographs, quotes and teachers feedback. File and label documentation and pupils photography accurately.

Photographs and documentation of your projects can be shared via the website and the My Place exhibition in early 2015 at The Lighthouse in the centre of Glasgow.

Pupils may also enter the My Place Photography Competition in January. All entries are featured in the exhibition.
