I got it sized and I must say, it is a very handsome watch. All operations are perfect to this point. I will say that the chrono hand IS NOT as smooth as one is used to in the 7750's etc. and runs much like you saw on Shop when it launched. I have run it a dozen times and it snaps back perfectly as expected. However, the seconds hand under a loop runs much like my Precisionist, very smooth. The bezel is flawless and the carbon dial impressive. Overall, I am most impressed thus far and am very pleased I could pick up this watch. I will let everyone know if there is any "erratic" behavior as I put it through time tests over the next few days, however I would highly encourage anyone who wants to pick this one up to pull the trigger. __________________ "There's a difference in livin' and livin' well..." -George Strait 3 Lastest Threads by watchdude1 Thread Forum Last Poster Replies Views Last Post My Ocean Speedway has arrived :) UPDATE Post #27 General Invicta Watch Discussions watchdude1 28 567 03-02-2011 02:33 PM Anyone enjoy a particular artist? Congrats on that one.

I really like the looks of the Ocean.

Oh, thank you for pointing out that the second hand is very smooth.

This made me change my mind and I will now order that one for sure!

Yes, the seconds hand is VERY smooth, the chrono hand is not and presents much like it

looked on Shop.

Well Congrats on that sweet watch; I believe this movement must have different speeds that

the chrono and regular seconds hands operate at. I know that some 7750 movement second

hands will run at 28,888 bph while in the same movement the chrono seconds hand will

operate at 21,600 bph; I don't have the specs on the movement so I'm not sure if this is

true for the sii movement; if this is the case then the shopnbc hosts who presented this

movement as well as mike should have made this distinction and prevented this controversy.

This is the mysterious Seiko 36,000 bph movement?

Please take pictures and videos of your watch.

Really curious to see it in action

Also I can't wait for your accuracy report Quote:

Thanks for sharing your initial impressions of the watch. Nice to read that someone is happy

with a higher end Invicta watch. Mine is due to arrive Friday. Really looking forward to it. It

has been a while since my last Reserve Auto purchase. I will be sure to post my impressions

as well. Enjoy yours.

Update #1 - date has rolled over, no issues...in the first 12 hours it has gained 1 second.

Thanks guys, I will check back in about 2 days with my final report. I have no reason to

believe this watch is anything but a "keeper." Like I said, it is one of the more handsome

watches I have purchased in some time.

I just saw the video

YouTube - Invicta Men's Reserve

Ocean...

I notice even the second hand at 3 o'clock looks jerky

Is this the case for you aswell when the chrono is running?

No, actually the seconds hand (either with chrono running or not) is smooth as silk. Under

10x loop power, it appears to be as smooth as my Bulova Precisionist. It's not that the

chrono hand does not "sweep," it's just not with the silky smoothness we are used to in

other high end chrono movements. I am very pleased with this watch, it's a keeper!

Actually, your comments above are incorrect. There are not 7750 movements that run at

differing BPH. The Valjoux only has one mainspring to power everything and one

escapement/balance wheel. So, 28,800 is it for the movement.

As to the Speedway, I am going to have another look at the sample we have when I am in

the studio when it is available to be checked out.

UPDATE: results from Ocean Speedway testing

I have been wearing and testing the watch for roughly 68 hours now and here are the

results: It is almost perfect...it is running at +1 second/day fast. No issues with any of the

functions and the date function is running perfectly.

As a side, the chrono hand seems actually a bit smoother although still not what I'm used to

seeing on a 7750 or 2894, etc. It snaps back perfectly (33 times) and I even cross tested it

with 2 other chronos, starting them at the same time (my wife and daughter helped with this

test) and letting them run for 5 minutes. One was a 7750 Dragon Lupah and the other was a

2894 COSC Speedway. After 5 minutes all were perfectly matching. So despite any doubt I

may have initially had with the less than smooth chono hand, this is a very beautiful and

very accurate timepiece. If you have been on the fence, I encourage you to purchase this

watch.

One other thing I was remiss in reporting and that is on the case and bracelet. One thing I

want to make sure is very clear, this is NOT in any way related to the Invicta II case and

bracelet. The bracelet is AMAZING...the links are massive. The case is something else with a

bezel (120 click) that is smooth as silk. Just want to make sure everyone is understanding

this is not the same case and bracelet you are going to see on an Invicta which goes for $89.

Nothing wrong with those, but that is one of the reasons they are $89. So aside from the

awesome movement, you have other features that make this a winner.
