my note to you

Hi! My name is Laura. I am humbled that
you have allowed me into this space with
you. Thank you so much for taking the time
to get to know me. I want you to know that I
have tremendous love and respect for your
journey. It takes great courage and strength
to make such an important decision. Your
thoughtfulness and dedication show the
immense love you have for your child. No
matter what you decide, your choice will be
the right choice!
Honestly, my life did not work out the way
I thought it would. No matter how a child
finds me, I am excited to be a mom because
it has been the desire of my heart since I was
young. There has been no better time in my
life for me to enter this journey and I’m so
very ready to take on being a mommy with
a heart that is wide open and prepared to
love a child fully and unconditionally. This is
not the most traditional way to motherhood
but if you choose adoption, we can support
each other and do this together.
Thank you again for getting to know me. I
am thinking about you and praying for you
every day. I won’t pretend that I know all
the emotions you are feeling and I will not
underestimate how uncomfortable this is
for you. I know that this is a big life decision
and I am here for you as you navigate this
journey. I want to learn all about you and
your dreams for your child if that is your
desire. I am here to support you no matter
what happens.

I grew up in a small town outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with my mom, dad and younger
brother, Tim. I am an incredibly social person and also have lots of hobbies that I enjoy filling my
time with! I LOVE to read, which has been one of my favorite activities since being a little girl. I
already have a large children’s book collection started and cannot wait to read to my child everyday.
Listening to all kinds of music is also one of my favorite activities, and I’m known for breaking out into
song, even at work, where my coworkers will usually all join me! Creating and making things brings
me a lot of joy, and some of the ways I express myself artistically are sewing, scrapbooking, painting,
and building things. I usually give away my creations, but recently I have been sewing baby items like
bibs, burp cloths, and blankets, and have been painting nursery decorations.
When I’m spending time with friends, it’s usually going on shopping trips, taking walks, having movie
nights and game nights, having dinners out, going bowling, and playing mini golf. Although I am
single and do not have children yet, I have an amazing network of family and friends who
support me in my decision to adopt and raise a child. With an open heart, a strong spirit, and
unwavering commitment, I am ready and eager to share all of the ups and downs and little moments
along the way as I welcome a child into my life.

why i am adoptingAs a child, my heart’s desire was to be a mom. Not finding the right person to marry
and struggling with fertility issues for five years have been a couple curves on my road
to becoming a mother. After a lot of prayer, I’m confident this is the way I was meant to
begin my family. Once I became determined in my choice to adopt, everything began
fitting into place. When I shared my desire to adopt with my friends and family, they met
my news with tons of prayer and encouragement. I have an incredible village of family and friends to walk through this journey with me and support me and my child.
I am excited to raise my child, and give them a loving home to grow up in. I want to be
there for them in the good times and the hard times, support their imagination, show
them that they can be anything they set their heart to, and love them unconditionally. I
am fully prepared to provide for my child emotionally, financially, physically and in every
other way to care for them.

I have helped care for children all my life. In my teenage years I was the favorite
neighborhood babysitter, and as a young adult I worked as a nanny for years and learned a
lot about different parenting styles which helped me explore how I want to parent my own
child. A lot of the children I have watched are still a major part of my life, and I am thrilled
seeing how excited they are for me to have a child!
I am even around babies in my job, which is a Unit Coordinator in the mother/baby unit of
our local hospital. My job is flexible, family friendly, has stability, amazing benefits and gives
me financial security.
My mom and best friend Tabatha are the closest people to me. My mom has been so
helpful and knowledgeable in helping me prepare to become a mom and prepare our
lives for the blessing of a child. Tabatha is more like a sister to me than a friend. Her
daughter calls me “Aunt Lawa,” and is excited to meet my baby. Tabatha is the first person
I share exciting news with and I’m thrilled that her and my mom can walk this journey of
motherhood with me.

why I want to be a parentI dream about helping my child learn and grow into a healthy and happy adult. I dream about family vacations, new holiday traditions, seeing them off to kindergarten and then off to college. I am excited to be the person they turn to as they navigate their way through childhood
and adolescence. There are many cultural experiences I want to show them and experience with
them, including museums, plays, concerts, and musicals! I look forward to providing a spiritual
foundation for my child so that they can grow in their own faith.
MY FRIENDS WOULD DESCRIBE ME AS: Thoughtful, patient, fun-loving, outgoing, optimistic, full of hope, inspiring.
FAVORITE BOOK: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
IDEAL VACATION: The British Isles: Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.
FAVORITE MEMORY: My dad, brother, and I watching our beloved Phillies win the 2008 World Series together with our families and friends.

5 values I want to teach my child
HONESTY That even if it is not easy, honesty is the best policy
JUSTICE To be sorry and to make amends when they have wronged others
DETERMINATION To encourage them to try things that don’t come easy to
them and praise them when they try
CONSIDERATION That kind words or actions can make another person smile
and feel better and that when we are nice to others, they will be nice to us
LOVE To say “I Love You” and give many hugs and kisses -- that we can show
love through gestures and kind acts

I live in the suburbs of Pennsylvania in a cute, cozy, and bright rancher. My home has three
bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large family room to play in and a full basement. There is a large
backyard with big trees and lots of space for running and playing games. The deck off of the
house is also a perfect spot for family picnics. I have started the nursery which is right next to
my room. So far it is filled with grey, peach, and mint colors with tons of light, a bassinet, and
other newborn necessities.
My home is the meeting place for my family and friends, and I already have lots of kid’s stuff
for little visitors, including a kiddie pool in the backyard. I enjoy entertaining at my home and
making meals for family and friends, and hosting movie nights and game nights.
The neighborhood is surrounded by parks, playgrounds, shopping centers, libraries, pools,
museums, zoos, trains, historical towns and sites, national parks, trails, family run farm
markets, orchards, theatres, beaches, community events, and rivers. It is such a varied and diverse area. We have the best of both worlds -- there is lots of wildlife nearby, but we
can also take a day trip to New York City!

I am extremely close to my family. Two of the most difficult events in my life have been the
passing of my brother, Tim, in 2009 after a long illness, and losing my dad suddenly in 2016.
Because of these losses, I have learned to treasure people in my life and live life to the fullest.
My mom is one of the closest people to me, and we miss my dad and brother terribly. We
share a home, and she can’t wait to be a grandmother. I love that she will be a daily part of
my child’s life.
I have a large extended family with 14 aunts and uncles, 18 cousins, and 23 second cousins
(who call me Aunt Laura!). We are a fun, dynamic, loving, supportive bunch. I grew up
spending time with my cousins going to the lake, having picnics at my uncle’s house and
going to parties for our birthdays. My favorite family childhood memory is helping my
grandmother make our traditional “Italian Holiday Soup” which we serve at all family dinners.
Most of my extended family lives close by and their prayers and support on this journey to
motherhood are so special to me.
My family and friends are my village! They are some of the most supportive and amazing people I have ever known. I can think of no greater support to help me as a mother. They
are so excited and can’t wait to welcome my future child.

MY BEST FRIEND, TABATHA H
“Laura will make a great Mama because she is caring
and loving. She is great with kids and my daughter
loves her Aunt Laura. She has such a big heart. We
are proud to be a help to Laura and support her as she
undertakes the joys of motherhood.”
MY MOM, SANDY W
“My daughter, Laura, is a very compassionate and
loving person. She is kind and gentle with children and
is patient while explaining things on their level. She is
creative and makes homemade toys or games that will
challenge a child to learn new skills. She is going to be a wonderful mother, and I am excited to be a help to her!”
MY AUNT, CARRIE W
“Laura will be the kind of mom that everyone wishes they had. She prides herself on family and togetherness.
She would show her child that there are a lot of things
to explore outside of the home, such as vacations and
trips that will be learning experiences. She is a very
true and honest person. If discipline would be needed
it would be done with compassion and love. She always
has a bright smile and enjoys laughing. Happy times
will always be presented to her child. “

MY AUNT, KATHY W
“Laura is a giving person who is loved by the children she was a nanny for, as well as the children in her family. She continues to attend their concerts, school
activities, birthday parties and Christmas celebrations.
Laura has taken them to local fairs and to the beach.
They look forward to spending time with her and in
return, has earned the well-deserved title of Aunt Laura.”
MY COUSIN, KERRI M
“Laura will make a great mom because she will do
anything for her family. Not only is she loving and selfless but she is the backbone to keeping all of our family traditions alive. I’ll never forget when I got
married and she gave me the greatest gift of our family
recipes handed down from generation to generation.
Or the year she started a family white elephant gift
exchange which resulted in the family laughing until we
cried. I can’t wait to see Laura share these amazing family
moments with her child and create new traditions.”
MY FRIEND, LUJEAN B
“I have known Laura for over 25 years. She was our first
and number one caretaker for our children when we
needed to do something without them. Because of her
caring and great personality, she has remained a part of
our lives and we consider her a member of our family.
She is a vivacious, loving, and generous person who attracts and engages with children easily. She is
attentive to the needs of others and is unselfish in every
way. We are all looking forward to her adopting a child.
She will be a wonderful mother in many ways.”

MY FRIENDS, STEVE B AND JOANNE B
“My husband Steve has known Laura his entire life as
his babysitter and now our dear friend, someone we
consider part of our family. Throughout our entire
relationship, we have known her to be hard working,
responsible, resourceful, compassionate, and devoted
to her loved ones. She has shown strength through
the trials of life and a wonderful sense of humor (two
qualities which are sure to be an asset in parenting)!
Since she began the adoption process, we have seen the great amount of love, thoughtfulness, and care she has put into getting ready for a little one.”
MY FRIEND, GRACE W
“My first memory of Laura is her peeking her head
around a chair to find me giggling in the corner during
a game of hide-and-seek. Whenever my parents would
go out while I was growing up, Laura would come over
and watch me and my two siblings. We were never disappointed to hear that she would be watching us for the night, knowing all the fun that would be had. When I was in high school, she always came to
my concerts and was so supportive of me every step
of the way. Now that I’m in my third year of college and
helping her get ready for adoption, I think back on all
these memories and I have no doubt that she would
make a great mom.”

before you goI hope my profile gives you a sense of who I am and the life of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
I would provide a child. I am so thankful for a large ‘village’ to be there too! I hope
you were able to learn more about me, but I wanted to let you know again how much
I respect you and that I am here supporting and praying for you as you continue this
journey. If you do choose to place your child, I pray that you choose the family that you
feel most connected to. It must feel weird to have to read through these profiles but
know that it is your right to make whatever decision you need to!
I want to share with you the things that I am committing to do:
• They will know who you are, where they came from and all about your
courage and deep love for them.
• I will always be there to wipe their tears, kiss their boo boos, listen and hug tightly.
• I will teach them to love with their whole hearts, to be honest, and will
encourage them to try new things.
• I will allow them the space to creatively explore the world and encourage
their imaginations to grow.
• They will always know they are loved unconditionally by a powerful village
of family and friends.
• They will be around a group of wonderful male influences who are good
role models and will support them as they grow.
• They will live in a home where they always feel safe and accepted.
• They will grow up knowing I have their back and will support them in
achieving their dreams.
• We will have fun – dance around the living room with loud music, have
family game nights, be silly and laugh lots!
• They will be provided with a strong, biblical foundation on which to build
their own faith and foster a relationship with God.
• I will encourage your child to have a servant’s heart and find joy in helping
others in need.

When things are hard or something upsets me, I find comfort in laughter. Friends, The Office and The Big Bang Theory are my go to happy shows. Not long after my brother passed away, my friends Tabby, Lauren and Jenny came
over to hang out with me. They knew that laughter and just being there for me would help and it did. That day we laughed and then cried from laughing so hard at Rachel and Joey and Monica and Chandler and Phoebe and Ross.
“We were on a break”, “Joey doesn’t share food” and “How you doin’” were our favorite quotes from that day but I still belly laugh when I remember Phoebe changing her name to Princess Consuela Bananahammock!! Laughter can
be the best medicine when times are tough. I pray this helps to support and comfort you. I hope we get a chance to meet because I would love to go on
this journey with you and have the opportunity to be an encouragement to you. It would be amazing. You are Amazing!
WITH LOVE,
Laura
