R&B music
Rhythm and blues, often abbreviated to R&B and RnB, is a genre of popular African-American music that originated in the 1940s.[1] The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans, at a time when "urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat" was becoming more popular.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhythm_and_blues

R&B magazinesR&B magazines are very often quite plain bold colours that stand out with a simple coloured background. Usually there is one or more models on the front page which will be the main feature in the magazine.
With then other features spread around the main image and masthead however unlike the pop magazines the front covers are very plain usually only having a few headlines on the front cover allowing it to look quite smart and bold unlike a busy pop or rock magazine.
Most pop magazines appeal to younger people often girls by being quite bright and sometimes glittery, which can be considered to look tacky; R&B magazines very rarely use these types of affects often keeping it very bold and simple.
