My Insight on the Silungai Trip

1
A peaceful village along the Salung river bank in the district of Pensiangan. It was a joy to go into Silungai, and to be with the community for 3 days. It was such an encouragement to see both young and not so young brothers and sisters in Christ offering their God instilled talents and abilties in services and sharing to the Church in Silungai. In return, I been ministered by their love, warm, sincerity, contentment, ability to meet daily challenges everyday in this far off village which I have took for granted in the city. The 45 minutes boat ride into Silungai along the Salung river, I observed nothing else but different type of trees growing along the river bank. Healthy, majestic, beautiful and firm, all which display the splendor of its glory! I was reminded of the word of God in Jeremiah 17: 7-8: Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes. But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought. Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Exactly fitted in this passage. May this promise be for the community of Silungai and so as for us. Thank you. Sincerely, Yuk Ling.
