My Favorite Music Genres

A.K.A Tanner

Alternative Rock/Metal

• This genre is what got me into most music I listen to today.

• I started out with the likes of System of a Down, Weezer, U2, The Strokes, Bayside, etc.

• I still listen to these genres, but not like I used to.

• There was just something about this style of music that pulled me in when I was like…eh maybe 8-9.

Rap

• Here’s a genre that I basically grew up with.

• My favorite rappers are Eminem, and most of OFWGKTA. Kendrick Lamar is alright too.

• I hardly listen rap anymore though.

Post-Hardcore

• This is one of my more favorite genres that I frequently listen to.

• I listen to Pierce The Veil, Dance Gavin Dance, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, Silverstein, Abandon All ships, etc.

• It has a pop punk and hardcore punk kind of feel.

Metalcore• Another genre I avidly listen to all the

time.

• You can’t go wrong if you want to hear some pretty heavy music.

• A Day To Remember, Issues, The Devil Wears Prada, Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men, Stick To Your Guns, etc.

Deathcore

• I listen to this genre a lot. Well kind of, not like I used to.

• Some bands I enjoy from this genre are Ennui Breathes Malice, Chelsea Grin, Suicide Silence, Despised Icon, The Red Chord, The Acacia Strain, Emmure, Thy Art Is Murder, In The Midst Of Lions, etc.

• This genre is heavier than most genres I listen to.

• This has like an extreme metal and metalcore feel.

Hardcore Punk

• Hardcore punk is a subgenre to punk rock. It has a faster tempo and a heavier sound.

• I listen to bands like AFI, Comeback Kid, Defeater, Earth Crisis, The Misfits, etc.

• Another genre I like a lot.
