For Home or stand alone user only 1. The best place for storing the image is the separate partition (10GB) in HDD, if you enough space on HDD. If you have two physical HDD, store the image on second HDD that does not contain OS. 2. You can directly store the image on Blank DVD-R/RW or CD-R/RW. In this case a. Run the Ghost, Point the DVD or CD writer as a storing destination after that take out the Ghost CD and put Blank DVD or CD according your choice, if u select CD then u may need 5 to 7 Blank CD according to size of image or single DVD-R/RW. b. After completion of successful image creation put this DVD or CDs to safe place (i.e. try to avoid dust and scratches on it.) 3. Ghost can also be used as data recovery tool ……How? a. For example you save your work in My Document or on Desktop suddenly PC does not boot or start in that case what to do? b. Simply make the image of your partition that contain OS (default C:\) on which all your work resides. Name the image “recovery” for understanding point of view. c. Now reinstall the windows (or restore the image that you created prior to PC crash) d. Now run the file “Ghostexp” that is on CD. Open the recovery image (File Open). On the right pane u can see everything in the image (i.e. old C:\ Partition) Locate your data i.e. My documents or Desktop folder right click copy it
