My day as a member of the European Parliamentstarted with early rise and delicious French
breakfast, during which I with my classmates andcolleagues from other cities of Latvia discussed whatwe were expecting from our day, before we took the
bus to go to the parliament.
After waiting for a little bit in a queue we finally got into the parliament and our day officially started.
After receiving group theme pages and learning a bit about the upcoming day, it was time for me to
meet the other journalists.
I think that was the moment, when I wasthe most nervous, but I shouldn’t havebeen, because I met a lot of interesting,
active and nice people from many differentcountries.
While together at breakfast, we had some hotchocolate and time to get to know each other.
Finally came the part everyone hadbeen waiting for – the chamber.
In the chamber each school wasintroduced by a pupil and later we
had a poll and a debate.
After interesting discussions we had lunch, during which we played a ‘’Eurogame’’ and
shortly after a press conference with Mr. Luis Martinez Guillen, where we had a chance to ask questions about the main
problems on the E.U.
When the press conference ended, we had a free hour to do what we wanted. I chose to go and take pictures of the working groups.
When we got back to the chamber, it was time foreverybody to discuss the main problems that the
working goups discussed during the previous hour.
We also had the opportunity to vote on the ideasput forward by the groups.
Later we found out who had won the ‘’Eurogame’’.
The first four teams had a chance to play a game, to find the final winners.
After the European anthem was played, myday in parliament was over.
I want to thank the European Parliamentfor giving this chance to become a member
of the European Parliament, for theopportunity to exchange ideas and meet
new people.
