WORK EXPERIENCE

Shop Floor Assistant

As the years have gone by, there are skills and attributes that I have learnt on the way to make the person I amtoday. During work experience in Year 10, I worked at Superdrug with my sister, who is currently assistantmanager of a branch of Superdrug. Throughout my time at Superdrug, I encountered different roles, whichallowed me to deal with a range of customer issues. I am a very calm person with calming presence; this hashelped through difficult times. I believe these skills I have learnt will be of beneficial to any television and filmindustries. Going back to the first question, I personally believed that communication skills are one of myweaknesses. Before starting my work experience, I was afraid in responding to customers inquires as I was newin the experience of locating products in different sections of the business. I would consider myself to besomeone who wants to do everything on their own rather than asking for help. For example, if I was given theopportunity to work with the administration team of this Superdrug branch and I was looking at a profit & lossaccount or a balance sheet to identify where the incorrect figures have been added, I am the type of personwho looks for a solution rather than getting any help. Although, I do believe that whilst working here for workexperience my confidence and self-esteem have increased in being able to think of a solution on the spot.

Research & Editing Assistant

The second work experience at a company called Proudfoot, a media and film industry company in centralLondon gave me an insight to what goes on in this industry. I was given the chance to help carry out researchon several people involved in the documentary Proudfoot were making. This improved my independent work,and made me more self-motivated. I was able to establish a good relationship with my colleagues, which helpedme enjoy my time at Proudfoot. In the television and film industry, you are expected to establish a friendlyrelationship in order for every worker to be on the same page and the business to move in the right direction. Iam also aware that employer relationship will increase the productivity within a workplace and the morale willg ive the workplace a better atmosphere, which will get employees to out of their shells.
